A bit disappointed July 21, 2006 insx (England) 27 out of 31 found this review helpful
I like playing DDR/Stepmania and I find that the gameplay on Dance Praise is just not as good. This game has a lot to offer and there are plenty of interesting modes but the actual stepping to the beat just doesn't feel right. I can't put my finger on why but the DDR feel just isn't there. This game feels a bit "dead". So, in contrast to the other reviewer, I would say if you like DDR, you probably won't love this. The game is also far too forgiving! Yes, I know it's a Christian game but it doesn't have to be so easy. The problem is that the good steps score really highly, so you can miss loads of steps and still clear the round. I don't want to moan too much about this game because it has a lot going for it, including some interesting twists not found in similar games (and of course, wholesome music). It will definitely appeal to people who haven't played DDR, etc.
Great Find for the Holidays! November 10, 2005 Mz Chele 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I was curious about this item when i saw it on Yahoo and thought, "Could it compete with the REAL DDR stuff?!" I saw it in a bookstore and tried it out! It's GREAT! I had great fun actually being able to dance to my favorite tunes! It has an Exercise option where you can set the timer according to how many calories you used up. An option that will come in Very Handy for me. ;) If you enjoy DDR, you'll love this game. You can even use your existing dance pads with the game (with an adpater, i think) if you have them.
Great fun for the new year January 1, 2006 Joana T. Jones (Indiana) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Just purchased this item today from a store. The middle age lady who sold it to me was laughing about middle age women using this -- and hurting ourselves. I'm in my 50s, and need to lose weight. She almost talked me out of it, but I had a gift card from the shop, so I went ahead and purchased it. I am so glad I did! The arcade is so much fun, and as awkward as I am, I am already getting better. I don't know many of the songs, but that's OK. The exercise portion of the program is a bit confusing to me, but maybe it will make more sense later. The arcade works, and is fun for anyone who can move around a little!
Dance Praise is AWESOME! January 20, 2006 biz-ee-mom (USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Having recently tried DDR and loving it, I was thrilled to see a Christian version recently released. I received it today and the kids and I have not stopped using it. It's very similar to DDR. The only real difference is the arrows travel down instead of up. I love the exercise option. And the songs are all sung by the original artists, unlike the DDR I tried at a friend's house.
Great alternative to secular music February 7, 2007 Theresa LaPage (Illinois) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
My girls wanted the DDR, but with the secular songs that come with it, I wasn't willing to buy it. This is an excellent alternative, not only providing a wonderful Christian music alternative, but providing tons of fun too. Even my 'cool' unsaved neice found it irresistable, and has been visiting more often just to play. I'm happy she is getting some much needed Christian input in her otherwise very secular life. Thank you for providing this awesome outreach tool!
