Perfect for whole family! August 19, 2005 Sienna Harper (Vancouver, British Columbia) 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
This product totally surpassed my expectations. Originally bought as a gift for my daughter, I ended up using for myself for trips to Montreal and France with my husband. This product is perfect for anyone who wants to learn a language fast. To learn the basics to converse in restaurants, banks, airports, hotels, shopping without sounding like a fool. It didn't waste my time with grammar or things I wouldn't need. It was fun as it uses humourous cartoon characters who at first seemed childish, but then I realized it made for a non-intimidating environment for someone who couldn't remember more than bonjour from high school. As for my daughter, it provided her with much needed comprehension pratise that's not emphasized at schools as much anymore. Very happy with purchase and well worth my money,
AMUSEMENT & SIMPLE April 21, 2007 Beverly Praiswater 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
After reading the reviews for various French language programs it has become apparent that "one size does NOT fit all"! This is not for those who have studied French in school or had classes in speaking French. These are quick, fun lessons.....an easy way to pick up French words or phrases if you are visiting France for the first time. It will not necessarily teach you how to say complete sentences or paragraphs. But you will learn basic words to begin your homework and progression to more difficult skills, if you desire. You can make it as repetitive as you want without being bored to death! The lessons are presented in a whimsical way for all ages. One important note: the disc will need to be updated with free downloads from the Kutoka website to bring your software up-to-date and functioning properly. (Kutoka is the company for EazySpeak). Amusez-vous bien!
Learning French Can Be Fun March 15, 2006 Love Learning (Ohio) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My daughters needed to begin learning French quickly because it is a part of the curriculum at their new school. This CD has made the learning process fun for them and me. We all use it and enjoy the activities on it. The girls will play Doki voluntarily when they have free time and love the graphics and occasional silliness of the characters. I bought two different learn to speak French CDs and they have a strong preference for this one.
Okay, but not the best October 30, 2006 K. Walker 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was pretty disappointed in this title. Because of the great reviews of Kutoka's Mia titles, I thought this might be a great one too. But the graphics are not what I expected. Also, you have to do a lot of clicking to advance. It's not the most user friendly software I've owned. The lessons themselves are okay; nothing special. I've used better. It's not as funny as they made it sound. I bought Asterix at the same time and enjoy that ten times more!!! SmartFrench is also a great title. However, if you're a beginner and are not too concerned with graphics and ease of use, EaszySpeak French is probably worth it.
For kids June 23, 2007 Values Privacy 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got a bad taste from this software for 2 reasons. 1. It's not for adults. 2. The Mac version seems to be a bad port of the Windows version. It pounds the processor. It also requires the CD to be present in the drive in order to function. So this may be ok (not great) for a child on a Windows machine (with the CD always present) otherwise you can do better even with free podcasts.
