Entertaining but overpriced September 27, 2008 Emily (East Coast, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very short pc game. I'm used to doing the Nancy Drew games and those can take a very long time. This was done in about 3 hours or so. It's very easy and no cheats are needed. Much, much easier than the Nancy Drew type games and not alot of depth. It was fine for a rainy day. The background music is nice and overall the graphics were pretty good. I wish it was longer and had different puzzles. I would say this is a decent game for 13-years old and up. Try to get it on sale because I think it was way too expensive for such a short game. I wouldn't pay this price again if another game out for this series unless they made it much longer.
Case Solving with objects finding to pass level and other mini puzzles September 24, 2008 RYLL (Berkeley, CA) Overall, I enjoyed the game and would look into future similar products or other women's murder club games. Very refreshing as I usually play RPG like old school Might and Magic or simulation games. Recommend game especially if you want to find an easy game to pass time with, i.e like those late nights when you just want to be alone and you don't want to sleep and you don't want to do anything else. Pro 1. investigating a case is fun. 2. fun mini puzzles. there are 3 kinds of puzzles. (Finding objects, arranging objects and special puzzles - special puzzles are the most intriguing) 3. EASY game play, easy to understand and directions easy to follow. 4.. VERY easy puzzles. 5. FIVE hints for each level that make the easy puzzles even more easy to solve. So easy that middle school kids will not have problems to complete the game (but since the storyline is based on murder and hints on illegal sexual relations, not recommended for middle school kids). 6. Get to play as different characters. 7. Game is very highly re-playable. The human mind can only remember so much, so you can always replay the game and try to find the same objects again. Also, you can choose to automatically SOLVE a puzzle or SKIP w/o reading the storyline, so you can just go ahead and play mini puzzles. Con Repetitive - there are three kinds of puzzles (also see Pro). 1. Puzzle Type 1: Finding objects - do it about 45 maps (15+ objects per map, ~5 maps per level, ~9 levels). After the first level or the first 5 maps, I got tired of it. It's a big part of the game. But if you like that kind of thing, it will be fun. 2. Puzzle Type 2: Arranging objects, ex. chemicals; record chemical findings. It was fun the first time, but imagine doing it again for ~7 more times, not so fun. 3. You can only have one save slot, can't can back and redo something. I want to go back and reread the comics/storyline on each level, but can't do that. 4. VERY short. I finished it in about three hours and feel that I haven't gotten my money's worth. 5. No challenge (the con side of easy games). 6. At the end of the game, when I found the killer, I felt that there should have been more aftermath investigations, but the game just let it hang. Disappointing. P.S. Not 3-D graphics.
Awesome! October 5, 2008 H. Enriquez (USA) It is very interesting to be involved in the investigation, lab work and all that is entailed in solving a crime. Great!
