Everything You Could Ask for in a Typing Method... November 12, 2007 Donald B. Payjack (Calgary, AB Canada) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I don't understand why some parents would slam this software... perhaps they didn't even take the time to review it in detail with their kids... sure there are games in there, (to help practise typing skills), but if you use the "Typing tournament" section there is a very well thought out graduated set of typing lessons that methodically introduces children to the various keys, giving them instruction on correct fingering, and walking them through drills to build their proficiency. What more could you ask for? Plus my 9 year old son loves it and can't wait to do another lesson when he gets home from school. Highly recommended!
SpongeBob making typing fun! October 1, 2007 Y. Sun (Boston, MA) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
This learn to type product suits my 10 year old for his only interest is to play video games. SpongeBob combines video game and the kid's natural competitiveness to motivate in learning a task that is basically boring. It really makes learning fun.
Not Compatible with Mac OS X Leopard! August 24, 2008 David W. Dellinger (North Shore of Oahu) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
Despite being billed as "SpongeBob Typing 2008," this version has NOT been updated to work with Macintosh OS X beyond version 10.3. It will NOT run on 10.5 Leopard.
Doesn't work on the Mac September 22, 2007 J. Hopson 15 out of 24 found this review helpful
It *requires* that the disk be in the CD when using it. Even so, it's not a regular mac app. It doesn't install the normal way. I never could get it to work. I returned it. I saw it working on the Mac at the Apple store, but I they must have a custom build for the Apple store because there wasn't a CD in that machine at the store. I've had this problem with several products from The Learning Company. They're cute at the store, but good luck getting them to actually work at home (on a Mac, anyway).
This is awesome!! September 11, 2007 B. L. Milton (Land of Enchantment) 14 out of 19 found this review helpful
That's what my 8yo dd said after a few minutes of play, followed by I love it. Need I say more?
