Product Description NTFS for Mac OS X eliminates the barrier between Windows and Mac OS X! Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X provides full read and write access to NTFS partitions. Basic use works great. July 26, 2008 James G. Gibson (Sedona, Arizona USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this product installed for about one month. The use I had intended is fairly straight forward. I have a Western Digital "My Book" hard drive on which I store photographic files. It contains two 500 GB drives that I have set up in a RAID configuration for redundant back up. I initially used this drive with a Windows XP laptop. Accordingly it was formatted as a NTFS drive. My purchase of NTFS for Mac OS X was for the purpose of using this drive with an iMac. I wanted to have the capability of writing and reading files to/from this drive with my iMac. So far it has worked perfectly for my intended purpose.
Paragon's NTFSforMacOS October 1, 2008 stephanie (orme, arizona) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought Paragon's NTFS for Mac OS X because I had just purchased a Seagate 750GB Hard Drive to transport files from PC to Mac and vice versa. Low and Behold, the beloved Mac OS 10.3.5 (Leopard) read, but did not write the NTFS file format. I installed the download version from Paragon's web site (Search it on Apple Store for Link), and it installed smoothly on my MacBook and ran successfully by replacing the standard driver. No other effects, ill or otherwise have been seen to date. I successfully copied about 80GB of music files, 20GB of .pdf books, backed up all my other drives and jump-drives and still have 600GB left. When the trial period expired (It isn't really Shareware as Apple states), I purchased the CD from Amazon.com cheaper than a download license at Paragon (free shipping over $25.), and the license numbers unlocked the trial version without a glitch. And I have the CD for backup. Good product, good installation, good price and service from Amazon.
flawless win/mac integration August 16, 2008 Chad Gilmour (Minnesota) I love this product. It installs as a background utility so once it is installed you never have to think about it again. Now I can bring large video files back and forth between clients that work on windows or mac. If you need to write files larger than 5gigs and they need to be acessed on a drive that must be used by mac and windows you need this.
Great Software August 18, 2008 F. Funk I'm transitioning from PC to Mac. I have a Western Digital My Book external harddrive that is also connected to my PC via USB (the Mac Pro is connected via firewire). I wanted to keep the drive connected and used by both systems and this software/driver made it possible. This capability should have been built in to the Mac OS! But since it's not, I'm glad to pay for this affordable software.
Allowed full access to NTFS disk drives from my Mac September 30, 2008 William R. Vilberg (Miami, FL USA) This product does what it says. I installed it, and could begin working with NTFS disk drives. Since I had a number of Windows drives around, this let me access them from my Macintosh without any changing of the format. I continue to need to share drives between Macs and Windows computers, and FAT32 won't allow the large file sizes that I sometimes encounter. NTFS for Mac has solved my problem.
