Product Description Ultimate X-Men is the wildly successful relaunch that jettisons over forty years of continuity and sets the clock back to the beginning for Marvel's first group of mutant super heroes. This is a fresh start for the X-Men that begins when they're still teenagers just becoming a part of Charles Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters and chronicles their new first encounters with Magneto, the Sentinels, Juggernaut, etc. The book is published on a monthly basis and is a cornerstone of the Ultimate Universe, a separate line of comics Marvel produces all sharing the same taking-it-from-the-start philosophy. Ultimate X-men includes 70 issues from February 2001 through May 2006, including annual. It also includes bios of all characters!

To Clarify: August 8, 2006 LunaLupus 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
I don't actually own this product, but I do own the 44 Years of Fantastic Four DVD-ROM from the same company. I'd just like to clarify that the large watermark across each page is only supposed to show up on a few occasions: 1. Viewing the comics with something besides Adobe Reader. 2. Printing out the comics. 3. Viewing the comics with an old version of Adobe Reader. In this case, just update Adobe Reader. (This is based on the previous releases from this company, so I assume it's the same with this.) If you don't mind using Adobe Reader, or reading comics on your computer, and you like Ultimate X-Men, I would recommend this. Even if they don't include the Ultimate War cross-over mentioned in a previous review.
Good, cheap product with some flaws July 2, 2006 interpol111287 (USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The first 69 Ultimate X-men comics are here with the Annual for a very affordable price. Unfortunately it is on your computer, so it doesn't have the same feel as comic book. The program runs on Adobe Reader and you can view the picture, zoom, rotate, etc. There's no installation all you need is a CD-rom drive on your computer. The scans are crisp and clear. My biggest complaint is that the CD does not include Ultimate War, a cross-over between The Ultimates and the X-men. There are major plot gaps without these comics, and I am not getting the entire Ultimate X-men story.
Great deal, one compromise July 27, 2006 Andrew J. Conti (Queens, NY USA) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is of course, a wonderful way to pick up a huge span of X-Men comics. I have only one big gripe and that every page is stamped with a "Marvel" logo. Excuse me, did I not just buy these? Watermarks are for shareware and public resources, not something that I bought. I understand it's to prevent copyright infringement, but the logo is neither small nor unobtrusive. It is large and in the center of each page. Ridiculous. I won't be buying another product like this from Marvel.
Definitely a bargain, but... December 8, 2006 Cedric (Palo Alto, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
At seventy issues for ten bucks, this collection is definitely a steal. The comics are PDF files, which isn't a problem, but I have reservations about the files. One, these are scans of comic books, not reproductions from original computer art. Not only will you see old expired ads, but also staples and comic book folds. Two, you will want to read these on a large monitor. I couldn't read the font on my notebook screen, and could read it at 125% on my larger monitor. Three, the "Marvel (TM)" is on every page, though I didn't have any problems with this. Four, this is a PDF file, and you cannot export JPG files, a pity since these pages would make *great* wallpaper. But, again, for less than the price of a graphic novel reprint, you have six years of the Ultimate XMen, starting from the first issue to today. With these caveats, recommended.
Great but to short August 9, 2006 Sonny Mikel Murphy (Wichita Falls TX) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Ok I gave it 4 stars just for the fact that you cant actually hold them in your hands and read them. Plus it is only 70 issues but for 9 bucks thats awesome. I think they could have put another series on the disc like the complete X force or Exiles or something just to fill it out more.Oh and one more thing you can save the disc to your hard drive so you can save it at work and read at lunch without having to bring the disc with you. Highly recomended if you love comics.
