Product Description This collection combines Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 Classroom in a Book and Adobe Premiere Elements 6.0 Classroom in a Book into one affordable volume. Each chapter in these step-by-step, project-based guides contains a project that builds on the reader's growing knowledge of the program, while end-of-chapter review questions reinforce each lesson. Readers will learn how to use the programs' many new features, including Photomerge, Smart Albums, step-by-step editing assistance, and amazing photo-blending technology in Photoshop Elements 6. Premiere Elements 4 now includes the same Organizer that's included with Photoshop Elements, making it easy to visually tag video clips and photos to categorize by people, places, or events. Premiere Elements 4 also includes new Movie Themes, a new Sharing Center, world-class Adobe fonts for video titling, the ability to upload videos directly to YouTube, and more.
Note from the publisher:
Regrettably, we have discovered an issue on the disc for this product.

Photoshop Elements in a Classroom v. 6 February 5, 2008 C. McGivney (NY) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is my second "In a Classroom" book purchase. I raved about the one for version 5 and wrote to Adobe asking for a book for intermediate users. I rushed to order the book for version 6.0 as soon as it was available and while it too is very good I was disappointed that some of the example graphics are the same ones as for the prior book. This book, which I am still reading chapter by chapter, has very clear exercises to follow with step by step instructions. Ideally I think one should complete the book exercise and then look for a personal graphic to repeat the exercise with. This book would receive 5 stars if it were not for the fact that they repeated the use of some graphics.
For the periodic user of PS6 & PE4, an essential learning tool May 25, 2008 RLHenry (Sacramento) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Being the sort of person who likes to show a quality slide show I decided to buy this learning tool. I had used both Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements starting with versions 4 and 2 respectively. Since I don't use these products excessively I suffer from cold storage from time to time. A little over a year ago my daughter got married and I was compelled to become proficient(using versions 5 & 3 at the time), quickly with both products and ultimately was able to author a very nice DVD covering her wedding shower, gown selection, a myriad of other little important things regarding the wedding preparation along the way, the rehearsal dinner and of course the main event, as well as, the morning after gift opening breakfast. Needless to say when the wedding was over I presented them with their special DVD and immeditaely set the products aside. I recently purchased the current bundled versions of PS6 & PE4. I was preparing for a one-week trip to Yosemite National Park with my new Canon VIXIA HV30 HI Def camcorder. Before the trip I decided to get familiar with the new bundled versions of Photoshop 6 and Premiere Elements 4 that I had recently bought. At first blush they looked familiar, but I realized the more I played with them that the user interface had significantly changed - I believe for the better. So I decided to buy this aid, 'Classroom In A Book' for PS6 and PE4. Since the largest changes involved the User Interface for Premiere Elements 4, I started working on those exercises and immediately became familiar with all the facets of this great product again simply by working through the exercises, in the book. I would highly recommend this learning aid, particularly if you are a casual user who needs to get up to speed quickly. For those who wish to become advanced, frequent users, there are other excellent reference and instructional/informative books, ie., Steve Grisseti and Chuck Engels.
Just what I needed! February 29, 2008 D. Hulse (Northern Indiana) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had just purchased Photoshop Elements 6 / Priemiere Elements 4 software and felt that I really needed a "Tutprial" to lead me through the basics. This book is doing exactly that. As a newbie in photo and video editing, this book is an excellent starting point for learning the complexities of these programs. There are some areas, especially in Premiere Elements, that I wish they had gone into more depth, but I relaize that no single book can cover everything. There are other books available that do cover some of the more advanced features, and I plan to eventually explore some of those, as well. I have had a few "glitches" with the included lesson files on the dvd. A couple of files were corrupted, or whatever. It was just a matter of copying the files from a different folder on the dvd, since most of the example files are on the disk multiple times. I highly recommend this book to beginners, like me!
one more good book from Adobe February 9, 2008 Demont Francois (Phnom Penh, Kh) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought other books and always I am satisfied. It is easy to learn a new program with these books.
Nice upgrade February 16, 2008 Jerry (Conway, AR) 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have been using Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements since version 1. There was a little learning curve on this version of Elements before I liked it, but wouldn't do without it now. Easy upgrade installation with no problems. I have 14,000+ pictures in one catalog and it seems to be faster than previous versions. Haven't used Premiere Elements much yet, but it seems to be an improvement over the prior version. This is a must have in my software collection.
