The BEST Scooter of its kind! June 23, 2008 S. Nilsen (NYC, NY USA) Yes, they raised the prices drastically on this latest model but now the price is where it could have been all along. The engineering that has gone into these things is incredible. You will never find anything this light weight that can do what the Go Motorboards can. I've had at least one of every model that they have made and have been consistently impressed with their power, speed and small size. This scooter CAN climb hills too. No, not super steep grade, but all you have to do is give a little kick to help it along if the hill gets too steep. As for the negative reviews that I have read here, get a clue people. So what if you can't ride it in the rain? Pull your bike out and use your leg muscles once in a while. Sheesh. Oh and who in their right mind would think that this scooter should be able to ride on gravel? Read the manual kids. Basically I can't recommend this enough. Especially if you are a person who works in a place like a convention center or large job site with plenty of smooth flooring or concrete. If money is tight then get the 2000X not the XR or XR+. You shouldn't have to pay more than $350 anywhere for it and it will get the job done. The 2000XR is better because of the extra weight savings and the carefree battery system but it might not be worth it for most people. BTW, this is a product that proves that not everything made in China is crap. It should say, 'WELL Made In China' cause it is. With its fit and finish it could be made in Germany. Hope this helps Go Motorboard 2000X Transporter Electric Scooter
didn't like it! May 4, 2008 M. Torres (Niteroi, RJ Brazil) It doesn't go well in streets w/ gravel. The gravel took chips out of the wheels. The customer service is really bad. I bought an extra wheel that they never shipped to me. While I was going uphill the motor broke. I end up selling mine in ebay after having it fixed.
Unique transportation February 5, 2008 sppooo (Los Angeles, CA USA) Yes, it's not inexpensive. But it is a unique piece of engineering that gives you capabilities that are otherwise unobtainable. It is extraordinarily compact and powerful for its size, will fit handily in the trunk of any car for when you find a parking space five blocks away or get you to a subway station or anywhere you wish you weren't walking -- and once with you, it's light enough and unobtrusive enough to be folded and carried or stored without any hassle. You can't compare it to a cheap Razor or some of the others available in Pep Boys or Toys R Us -- pick any of those "competitors" up and you'll find something bulky, even monstrous, and clearly not something you'd want to carry upstairs or sling under your arm. Again, they're asking a lot of money for this item and it might not be for you, but if it fits your requirements, it's an excellent machine.
Great Ride! Perfect for daily transportation! November 9, 2007 Sandra Carpenter (Riverside, CA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I take my Go Motorboard to and from work everyday, carries me up and down hills with ease. Since it is so light, I can easily fold and carry it, much more reasonable than hassling with a hundred pound scooter! It is pricey, but you get what you pay for!
At $800 it is an overpriced plank on wheels toy! November 6, 2007 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
This 2000XR made in China toy is useless as a serious transport system. It cannot be used under wet weather condition. It cannot climb steep hills. The Motorboard 2000XR low profile rubber wheels causes bumpy, uncomfortable and even dangerous ride on road surfaces that are uneven, port holes or crevices. Consumables eg. batteries and wheels are very expensive too. Can you tell your boss sorry I cannot come to work as my Go-motorboard cannot be used on rainy days or say this road is too uneven and too many port holes for my Go motorboard. Reall and overpriced $800 plank on wheels-that's what it is! No wonder only a limited no. of stores sells it.
