Product Description Gaynor Minden pointe shoes are wonderfully different. Gaynor Minden pioneered the use of high-tech impact reduction in pointe shoes and their shock absorbing design is now doctor-recommended. Their unbreakable shank flatters the foot while ensuring buoyant support and a durability unattainable in conventional pointe shoe construction. All of our Gaynor Minden's fitting and sizing are different too. Because they are made from advanced materials that do not deteriorate or lose their shape, they must never be fitted too tight, too wide, or too stiff. When ordering your Gaynor Minden shoes, Discount Dance Supply allows the dancer to not only specify the size and width but also the shank and box shape of her shoe without a costly special order. This lets the dancer customize her pointe shoes to best serve her own individual needs. All or our Gaynor Minden shoes have a deep vamp, high heel and either the unbreakable ExtraFlex, Supple or Hard shank. If you have not been professionally fitted in a pair of Gaynor Minden shoes, we suggest you visit the retailer nearest you and purchase your first pair of shoes from them. Ribbons not included

excellent shoes June 3, 2008 Nancy L. Nichols (South Carolina) Excellent pointe shoes for my daughter. Supple shank makes demi-pointe easier to achieve than the Extraflex shank. Longer life than traditional pointe shoes. Every dancer has their own "perfect" shoe, this is my daughter's shoe. Only "problem" with these shoes are the size 6.5 is too small and the 7's are a tad too big for her. She has to use padding for fit.
A Godsend! January 23, 2008 JoRoz (Clarksville, TN) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
OMG I love these shoes!!! I was wearing another brand of pointe shoes. They were so horribly constructed that it damaged my toenails, even through the silicone toe pads. I have lost the majority of my two big toenails and am waiting for them to grow back (grrr!). Aside from that, in my old shoes, I had a terrible time finding my balance when en pointe. I also noticed that the tip of the box was slightly rounded rather than flat... no wonder I couldn't balance! My new GM's (extraflex) however, are the best things I've ever put on my feet. I can find my balance, I can go on and off pointe with much more grace and ease... even my turns look and feel so much better. Even though GM's are pre arched, it does not affect my ability to go into and out of demi-pointe (which I was slightly concerned about). All-in-all, WELL worth the few extra bucks I paid for these. I have realized that a cheap price for pointe shoes can mean a high price later on. My GM's do not put any pressure on my toenails like my old shoes did, so I have no fear of losing my toenails again after they grow back. Thanks GM- you have a wonderful product!
Top Pointe Shoe!! September 5, 2005 M. Humphreys (Orlando, Florida) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have sworn by Gaynor Minden pointe shoes my entire dance career. I started out on Gaynor Minden's because the other (cheapley made) pointe shoes I had prior to that I was breaking every 4 weeks. As it was getting pricey to keep replacing them, I bought Gaynor Minden's which are perfect for dancer's who have 'over-developed' arches. Granted I still broke these every six months (class shoes only not performance ones)but this is the price we pay as dancers.
