Disappointingly bland August 12, 2008 R.L. Holly (Austin, TX USA) 14 out of 19 found this review helpful
My initial impression of this new customized edition of the venerable Monopoly game -- theme du jour, the Beatles -- is less than fab. Compared to other special Monopoly editions, this one seems slap-dash and unimaginative, with fewer in-jokes and wit. I'm afraid Apple took the easy way and treated this as nothing so much as a slick promo for the Beatles' back catalog -- the game components seem drawn mainly from album covers, the same old pictures and titles we've known for all these years. There's not much sparkle in this pedestrian presentation, it's not at all the romp I was expecting from the first official Beatles boardgame in over four decades. Hmmph. All those visuals and lyrics and imagery and creativity to draw from, and this dull product was the best (or least controversial) treatment they could do? I used to work as a game designer in the hobby game industry -- I'd design a better Beatles Monopoly game than this in two weeks and charge nothing, just to see this project done properly. Call me, Hasbro! I do like the Rocky Raccoon token, however.
so much fun! September 2, 2008 Nicole Gillum (California) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was so excited to get this game! I couldn't wait to see all the pieces! I'm a huge Beatles fan and this game was just so interesting because of it. I learned a bit about their older, UK albums, and that was neat. I think I might impose a house rule (that would totally be biased toward myself) that in order to buy a "property" (aka album) the player would have to sing a bit of a song from said "property"! It's just a thought! I love the game! Ooh, and there are of course rules for a quicker game too.
It's fab! August 21, 2008 macca the k (Toronto, Ontario) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I just picked up this new Beatles edition of Monopoly, and I have to say I'm most impressed! Album cover visuals include selections from both the British & American catalogues. There's even Beatles-related song titles like "I'll Keep You Satisfied" & "Come And Get It" thrown into the mix. As well, any board game that features a "Free As A Bird" card gets my vote! Very nice.
Best Beatles Item made to date! August 18, 2008 Brent Navratil 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
The Beatles Edition of Monopoly is the ultimate collectors piece for anybody who loves the Beatles. I got mine...hopefully you can get yours too before they are gone.

The Beatles? Monopoly? On a non-electronic, board game level, can it possibly get any better than this??
