comfortable, effective, few downsides February 7, 2008 N. Caniglia 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
They have a comfortable fit and I like them better than a traditional jock. I use them for martial arts where a cup is a necessity and though I quickly forget I'm even wearing a cup using these, I have been reminded (kicked, crushed in grappling, etc, all unintentionally) several times and this product has proven effective protection. You could probably use these for other sports just as well, but note that company does offer some similar products with apparent design differences to target specific sports [...]. I initially had trouble finding sizing info but here's a chart I found elsewhere on the web: S 27 - 29 M 30 - 32 L 33 - 35 XL 36 - 39 2XL 40 - 44 I'm usually between 32 or 33. I decided on the M and it fits well and it should be fine even if I gain a few extra pounds. After about 4 months of use I have noticed a couple thread unravellings, but easy enough to repair. Also it isn't the quickest thing in the world to get the cup into the short's elastic and velcro pocket, but I guess it's more important that once it is in that it stay in place during use, which it does.
Great protection, excellent comfort. December 29, 2007 Ninja (Eldersburg, MD United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Shock Doctor compression shorts are much more comfortable than a traditional cup and supporter. Makes wearing it for extended times much easier. Highly recommended for athletes!
Great Product.... July 27, 2008 Kenpo-Jujitsu Teacher (Columbia, SC) After years of wearing the standard cup-holders...I can honestly say that this product is light years ahead of them. It is comfortable...so comfortable that you forget you are wearing a cup...and the cup actually stays in place. I have a pair that is starting to come apart at some of the seams, due to the constant use on my part (over an ~ 3 year period, so no complaints on my part). FYI...I actually went to Shock Doctors' website first to get just a replacement pair of shorts, without the cup, since the original cup that came with my pair of shorts is still in great shape. Well...guess what? The like items sold on Amazon (with the cup) are cheaper than the ones without the cup on Shock Doctors' site!!! I guess this is another plus for ordering through Amazon.
