Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This helmet style became popular in the late 13th century, quickly replacing the great helm because the rounder shapegave the pigface a closer more secure fit. Towards the late14th century, the long snouted appearance had earned it thenickname Hounskull, or Pig-face bascinet. Measuring 11 inches tall, 13 inches deep and 8 inches wide, it is full sized and can be worn by most people. Made of 18 guage cold rolled steel, with a galvanized coating on the inside to prevent rust, this helmet weighs just about 4 1/2 pounds. The visor lifts up for added ventilation. It does not come with a liner. This helmet is BRAND NEW, never worn or displayed, and looks great in home offices or studies. It is excellent for use as part of a costume, but is not recommended for use as an actual helmet during battle re-creations.
