great product October 17, 2007 J. Castore (staten island, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daugher, Jacquelyn, this summer sustained an injury to her face playing softball. Her two front teeth were literally knocked clear to the back of her mouth. Thankfully, after getting prompt medical attention they were able to reset her teeth and hopefully saved them. She also needed three stitches to her upper lip which left a scar. After doing extensive research on the subject of facial injuries to girls playing softball, I came across this product on line, the Gameface. She absolutely loves it and it gives her the confidence to return to the field. She's now playing fall ball and is doing great.
No More Worries! April 8, 2008 J. Reynoso (CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was the best investment! I am relaxed knowing that my daughters face is protected when she is out on the field. I can tell it has built up her confidence wearing the GameFace safety mask. The GameFace does not limit their view during the game and it is easy to put on and take off, my two year old has mastered it as well! If you want to know that your child is safe on the playing field, the GameFace is for you!

We bought this for my daughter to wear while pitching, but now she wears it at every game no matter where she plays. After seeing her teammate go to the emergency room with a busted eye from a centerfield fly ball, she doesn't even have to be reminded to put it on. This is a great product for fastpitch softball.

The reality is that high velocity objects heading in your kid's direction tend to do damage, and kids do get their teeth knocked out by line drives. At $40, the mask seems a little pricey for what it is, and I know that may hinder some parents from getting it, but it's still a lot cheaper than an ambulance ride and a trip to the ER and well worth helping a kid not be afraid of getting out and playing a game. It really helped increase confidence on the girls softball field and didn't interfere with vision.
