Amazon.com Product Description This rugged boot from Sorel is an ideal winter weather boot for those who tend to find themselves in extreme conditions. Constructed from waterproof nubuck and suede leather, the boot is seam sealed to keep feet warm and dry. The built-in gaiter/bootie has an easy barrel lock closure for walking in deep snow and an Achilles adjustment strap, which can be tightened to further provide ankle support for uneven terrain. The removable EVA comfort footbed reduces weight and adds thermal protection for long days in the cold, and the Thinsulate insulation has a rating down to a very chilly minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Product Description Wade through the deep snow on a trek through the woods, or just shovel a path to the mailbox in the Sorel Men's Conquest Cold Weather Boot. A built-in gaiter closes with a poplock at the top that seals out snow. The seams in the boot are all sealed, and the leather is treated, so there's no spot for water to sneak through. Sorel packed the Conquest Boot with 400 grams of low-bulk Thinsulate synthetic insulation. It traps the heat without adding awkward bulk to the boots. While most boots rated to -40F are made to do nothing but stand in the cold, the Conquest is a true trekker

Sorel Winter Boot January 24, 2007 Philip Chapman (Yorkshire, England.) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
The looks and comfort of this boot have not disappointed and I suspect they will give me good service - However the manufacturers state the boot will keep your feet warm to -40deg. I have so far worn them in temperatures around +3deg and my feet were not particularly warm when standing in one place for any length of time. I fear that in temperatures much below this my feet will feel decidedly cold in these boots. I live in the UK where winters are not particularly harsh and hoped if I bought a boot I thought was designed for much harsher climates I could not go wrong, I have my doubts. I use my boots mostly to go fishing in so am stationary for long periods. If you are on the move quite a lot then that may make a considerable difference. So in summary:- Strong rugged ***** Waterproof ***** Comfort walking ***** Comfort warmth (The main reason I bought the boot) **

Great Boot, we didn't expect any less. My husband loves these so much he can't wait to shovel, now that is a good boot!
Bought these boots for my boyfriend January 18, 2008 K. Bjork (New Hampshire, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased these boots as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. He actually went online and picked them out. He loves them and says they are very warm. The only thing he doesn't like about them is the top part where the drawstring is. He says it rubs on the front of his leg and is annoying, but other than that, he has worn them already so often because of the smount of snow we have gotten so far.
The Perfect Winter Boot February 11, 2008 milominderbinder2 (United States) Sizing: Feels half size too small Pros:Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses:Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Stadium, Wet Weather This is a great cold weather boot. Wear them for winter hiking, camping, or to a cold football game. There is a shorter, lighter, but not quite as warm version, the Sorel Timberwolf. Of course you should apply waterproofing to any boot such as Niwax. Finally, warm boots won't help if you do not layer with good long underwear and hat or balaclava.
