Several studies have shown that Elite Kold products get the appropriate cold (just above freezing) to the treatment site, with no fear of frostbite or cold shock. Many team physicians and athletic trainers use Elite-Kold products on the sideline and in the training room. Elite-Kold wraps provide up to 2 hours of cold treatment at a safe temperature. Two layers of "ice pillows" contain non-toxic, purified water as the freezing agent. When frozen the ice pillows remain flexible to ensure a comfortable fit and excellent application of cold to injury site. This is a good, quick and convenient alternative in place of ice bags for getting a cold wrap on a player's shoulder and elbow.

for those experiencing inflammation in the shoulder girdle this does the job. stays cold for 30-60 minutes. I use it after workouts especially when doing overhead movements and it covers the whole shoulder including the scapula.
