Product Description The Bi-Directional S-Video to RCA Cable from Cables To Go allows connection of S-Video devices to a non-S-Video television. This bi-directional video cable converts composite RCA to S-Video or vice-versa without the expense of high priced active converters. This quality 75ohm coax cable is double-shielded with 85% aluminum foil and braid to reduce unwanted noise and distortion. The Y/C signal separation circuitry provides a bright, crisp picture from DVD, VCD, laser disk, VCR, camcorder, multimedia PC and more. In addition to fitting standard S-Video jacks, the precision-engineered bi-directional cables fit both 7-pin and 4-pin jacks on desktops and notebooks with a TV out jack.

Wrong Selection for my laptop March 8, 2007 Firmin Dani 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this item mainly to view the videos in my laptop on TV but couldnt do so coz my laptop is not detecing the cable at all. Eventhough the product claims that it works with both 4 and 7 pin s-video but doesnt do so. Please be careful that you read the complete specification of your laptop before buying this product. I am going for a 7 pin s-video cable coz my laptop has a 7 pin output but this has only 4 pins.
Good construction but noisy February 23, 2007 J. Jimenez 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Simply put: if you want a decent cable for passing video over to your TV set, this is the one, but somehow it gets sound noise from the PC thru the TV. I don't know why, because there's no interference source near, but i will uodate this and tell you.
It's a great cable for exporting video from you're PC, to a cheap projector or something. February 6, 2008 Morgan Neely (Eastern Exposure) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think that it is great and does the job quite nicely, but for one of those other comments up above, you might not be getting a signal from your laptop because you haven't told the laptop to send it out. Some of these newer Hp's and Compaq's make you transfer the video signal from the laptop screen to the out cables by hitting the [FN] key while pressing [F4] or something. Thats something to remember. It isn't just automatic detection, you have to do it yourself. Look closer at the pictures labeled on your keyboard! As far as sound, you are going to have to get some y-audio cables to split from your headphone port.
It works September 19, 2006 William Kennedy (worcester, MA USA) If you have an S - Video port on your laptop and you want to display this on a TV it works, without those expensive converters.
