Poor Reliability. December 15, 2006 Steve the "baseball dad" (SF Bay Area) 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
I bought two of these cards earlier this year in advance of a 3 week vacation. One card failed midway through the vacation after taking over 80 photos in Bryce Canyon, UT. The card would not read in my card reader and would show card error in my Nikon D2x. Upon returning from the trip, I sent the card back to Lexar for replacement and recovery of the images. After four weeks, I got a message indicating that the card could not be used and that the images could not be recovered using their normal methods and that the card would be passed onto their engineering group for recovery attempts. At this point, I requested that they replace the card in the interim since it was clear that the card could not be fixed or used. Lexar refused to replace the card but gave me the option of foregoing any further efforts to recover my images if I wanted a replacement immediately. I explained to them that they would have to replace the card at some point anyway, so why delay. They replied with the same option: we will replace the card, but that will stop the recovery attempts. Since I had priceless shots on the card, I opted to continue the recovery process. After another 6 weeks, I received a replacement card and a CD with most of my images recovered. Because of Lexars poor customer service, I was without this card for over 2.5 months. During this time, the price of these cards dropped by over 60 percent. Of course, I had to go out and buy another card in the interim. In my opinion, these cards should be a lot more reliable in the first place, but when they do fail, the customer service should be a lot more responsive. Once they determined that the card could not be used, there is simply no reason to delay the replacement of the card. I have used quite a few Sandisk CF Cards and have never had any problems. It seems that Lexars reliability is not up to par with San Disk. I have confirmed this with a number of other photographers as well. This is the last Lexar card I will ever own.
Works fine for me... January 8, 2007 Paul B. Hubbard (Portland, Oregon USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had no issues with using this card in my D200, unlike the previous reviewer. And so obviously I haven't had to deal with their customer service... Seems to work very well for me. My only beef is the space that they waste on the card with the "free" software...
Speedy! February 8, 2007 Jenn (WA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This compact flash card worked great for the rapid shots (3 frames per second) I love to take on my Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera. Edit info: Once again I forgot to select the number of stars for my rating. and therefore saved the Amazon default star rating. I give this product a FIVE star rating.
Lexar Card has been Great January 15, 2007 Sports Fan (Christine, ND USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have been using this Laxar Professional Series card for about a month and have loved everything about it. Speed, capacity and durability! I'm using it in a Cannon Rebel camera and commonly take a series of 6 to 7 sports shots at once and the write speed has been great. I rarely notice any delayed writing to the card and I take the picture in high definition. Love this card!
Great CF Card January 11, 2007 C. Bailey (Georgia,USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
But next time I will order from B&H Photo-Shipping was slow from Adorama-I thought I was buying from Amazon--and cost saving compared with B&H was less of a diffrence after waiting for severals days to ship!Took about 10 days to get the CF card.
