Amazon.com Product Description With a size and shape small enough to lend itself as a suitable keychain accessory, the Coby 2 GB Sports MP3 player is an optimally portable music player for both marathon-length runs and road trips across the country. Measuring less than 4 inches long and less than an inch wide, the player can be easily carried in a shirt or pants pocket, and can hold up to 500 of your favorite songs. In addition to music files, the player supports a mass storage mode, making the player a handy tool for carrying important school and business files. As an added school/business feature, the player comes with an integrated microphone, allowing you to record those important lectures or meetings in MP3 format. Loading the device with your favorite music is simple: All you need to do is connect the player to your PC or Mac with the provided USB cable, and start dragging music onto the device. Because the unit supports a USB 2.0 connection, transferring files to and from the device can be accomplished in mere moments (up to 40 times faster than USB 1.0 connections). Ideal as a workout companion, the player comes packaged with a convenient arm band, and the included neck strap earphones are certain to stay out of your face during the most strenuous aerobic activities. The player features ID3 and LRC support so you can see song and synchronized lyric information displayed on the unit's backlit LCD screen. There's also an integrated FM radio, an ideal feature for keeping up to date on breaking news and weather forecasts. The player supports Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Mac OS X operating systems, and runs on one AAA battery (provided). What's In The Box MP-C556 MP3 player, 1 AAA battery, stereo neck strap earphones, USB cable, arm band, and installation CD.

Good Value November 21, 2007 j&b 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Good Overall Player, Good Price, Very easy to use, Good FM Tuner and Recorder function that few players have. Only complaints are: 1- the headphones are too big to fit my ears, the cable tends to get very tangled, there is no quick release of the headphone leash to the player 2-The armband came in a cream color that did not match in my opinion the player color, black would have been better.
Stop working April 5, 2008 M. Antonio Escobar Acevedo (SD, CA USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
After two months it stop working, I will check if I can still use the warranty. I cannot even turn it on to listen music. However, I can connect it to the computer and use it as a usb disk (a very expensive one).
like it January 18, 2008 A. Mink 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It is really good for the price. The 2 GB size is great, especially with the FM radio built in. Will someone please make one with AM as well. I do wish that it had a clip on the back in addition to the eye on the top. You really need a rechargable battery with it. It goes through the single AAA battery fairly quickly.
Not bad for the price, but forget the "extras"... June 2, 2008 Woody (Chicago) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I recently had the opportunity to get two of these through my Pepsi points. The entire checkout process was simple and the shipping was pretty darn quick...I received them in a matter of 2-3 days. The Coby's are packaged nicely, with everything sorted into little baggies that you can reuse if you so desire. Not a bad idea, I think. My MP3 players came with the power cord, headphones, armband and even a battery so you can use your player right out of the box. Now THAT was nice of them! Right away I got to using my players and the accessories. They rate as follows. Pros: Great size. The Coby is small and light enough to use during physical activities, but not so small that it makes reading the screen difficult. The screen is a decent size and features a pretty good display system. There's a good set of options which even include changing the backlight color. That may not be important to some, but to others, the aesthetics are a plus. The player is pretty durable, my daughter having dropped hers many times over, and yet it still works like new. The 2GB storage is perfect for me and even my daughter, holding a great deal of music. Of course it may not hold your entire music library, but it will certainly hold enough for several hours of listening pleasure, depending on the file size of course. As for the MP3s themselves, you can load your music easily and even sort them into your own created folders if you like. It's really just drag and drop music files. Simple as that. Cons: The headphones are a waste. Not only do they sound terrible, by the looks of the size of them, they're meant for a giant's ears. So, not only do they sound awful, they're also uncomfortable and they won't stay in your ears. The armband is kinda cheesy. It's a great idea in theory, but with how it's adjustable, there's so much extra "band" that it not only is uncomfortable, but it just looks plain stupid. I don't see many people getting much use out of it, to be honest. On the plus side, the Coby does have a spot to attach a lanyard to it, which would be better than the armband anyway. All in all, I'd rate this a 4/5. It's definitely worth the price and isn't a bad little MP3 player.
awfully designed battery casing April 15, 2008 C. Idda 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
so i bought this because it was the cheapest mp3 player which i was "allowed" to buy with my english credit card (Im staying in canada) so anyway, every time it gets the slightest knock, the battery will cut out completely, and then if you try and turn it back on straight away it will tell me i have low battery and turn off, the only way around this is to wiggle the battery around and try again... this is pretty useless for what i wanted to use it for (snowboarding) oh and another issue, the rechargeable battery which came with it, doesn't seem to charge at all by usb, maybe because i'm on mac? but anyway i have to buy fresh batteries for it, which it goes through pretty quick! so with all the money ive spent on batteries so far, i could've bought an ipod instead!
