Definite Upgrade from included case November 2, 2007 Gadget Girl (Alexandria, VA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This case does fit the 160 GB version, but it is a tight squeeze...you kind of have to jam it in. Once it's in, it feels secure. My first case was defective...the snap that holds it up would not stay closed, so it would not stand up. Amazon shipped a replacement promptly at no charge. The second one works and it's a big upgrade from the case that comes with the unit, and much more secure feeling. I was a little disappointed that there is no stylus holder, since the Archos does not have an on-board stylus holder. For an extra $18, it's definitely worth upgrading from the Archos "sleeve." If it had a stylus holder, I would have given 5 stars.
They shouldn't have call it "stand" case November 7, 2007 StarDust (USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
They shouldn't have call it "stand" case, because the "stand" feature is not good. The DVR station provides a much more solid dock. Other than that, it is a nice case and does provide more protection, as mentioned by previous reviewer.
Nice looking but problems with this case. November 18, 2007 Krfan (Florida) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
If I had to rate this based on looks, I would give it 5 stars but this case has problems. First, it does not hold the unit securely. It could easily fall out and this is why it gets 2 stars. It's hard to believe that Archos approved this design. Second, in order to make it a stand, you flip the cover over and snap it in place. The snap does not work. I suspect this part is a defect. The only hole it has is for the headphone so you cannot charge this with the cover on. I almost returned this but I decided to keep it because it is good for protecting the unit in my backpack or purse and I like the way it looks. However, I have to be careful knowing that it could easily fall out when opened.
Awful. Just awful December 2, 2007 LTX (Brooklyn NY) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this case to go along with Archos 605 160GB. The case looks ok, but thats the only positive remark. Player does not fit well inside, as the left corner of the case is too high and pushes the raised part of the player below power button out. I tried to push player in. It doesn't stay because the side ridge is elastic and pushes the player out. Then there is a really horrible design flaw: when case flap is closed, it presses against the play/stop button and stops the playback of music. And there is no place to put stylus. Why would a player that comes with a stylus, not have a place to put it in? and the same applies to the case. I'm sending it back to amazon for refund and buying a Noreve case.
30 GB and Below Only December 11, 2007 David Anthoney 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
There is a different case for 80 and 160 GB units, they don't fit in this one as you can tell by the idiots who bought this one for the bigger cap units and gave this one a bad review. The 80 and 160GB units are thicker and have a shorter battery life. I have one of thicker cases and my Archos 80 GB fits perfectly. The Amazon description is wrong on compatibility. It fails as a stand, and if you want to charge while it's in the case, you better get some scissors. I like it for protection and it's a huge improvement over the one that is shipped with the unit. cheers
