The Game of LIFE: Twists and Turns is for kids who enjoy the freedom of making their own choices in life. Amazon.com Product Description The Game of Life: Twists and Turns puts a new and modern spin on Hasbro's classic family board game. It is a game of choices, where players can "test drive" different lifestyles, take their chances and experience the twists and turns of real life. Jobs, money, marriage, children and all sorts of unexpected events -- just like real life, it's all here! Recommended for ages 8 and up, there are a thousand different ways to play this game, and no two games will ever be the same. Updating a Classic Like the classic version of the Game of Life, the Game of Life: Twists and Turns is based around real-life events. You'll choose a profession at the beginning of the game, and roll the dice to progress along the board. As you progress, you'll encounter all sorts of real-life events (injected with a hefty dose of humor, of course), including marriage, houses, cars and family matters. You'll essentially live real life and make life-defining decisions, but without having to live with the consequences. However, Twists and Turns has a number of updates in store. Not only does it offer far more choices and possibilities than the original, it also has a number of new technical features that both longtime fans and newly-introduced players will appreciate greatly. The game now features a "LIFEPod," which helps players keep track of time and manage their careers, houses, cars and families with the touch of the button. The high-tech interface adds loads of fun to the game. The innovations don't stop there: each player now gets their very own Visa credit card, which they can use to spend. This not only puts a fresh modern twist on the game, but it also could possibly teach younger players about credit card responsibility at an early age. This gives educational value to an already quirky and fun game.
An updated classic game, this version of Life features a LIFEPod to help keep track of players' careers, houses, cars, and families. |

Awesome fun! August 21, 2007 Susan M. Corvelli (Colorado) 22 out of 27 found this review helpful
I played this with several adults (we did couples teams) and it was so much fun! This is definitely a great update to a classic and I agree that it could teach children credit card responsibility (or even some adults too!) if presented the proper way.
Why so much November 29, 2007 Amom (Winter Park, FL) 22 out of 28 found this review helpful
This game goes for approximately $32.00. B & H should be ashamed of themselves for charging so much for this game. It is not $100.00. Go to the Hasbro website and purchase it for the actual retail price.
Great Family Fun September 28, 2007 M. M. Rick 18 out of 23 found this review helpful
This game was a BLAST!!!My Kids and I really enjoyed playing it. One of the advantages of this game is that you can choose how long you want this game to last. On the downside..the directions can be a bit confusing BUT all in all.. This was an AWESOME game!!
Family fun for any age! November 11, 2007 Jolyne Shelton (American Fork, UT) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
We played this game with my 9 year old, and 6 year old. They both caught right on with no problems! My 75 year old mother even got it! We had it at my daughter's sleepover, and the 10 year old girls there loved it, and couldn't leave it alone. Our family highly recommends this game!
Education has no value ? December 30, 2007 Angela Slot 10 out of 20 found this review helpful
At first glance this is a nicely laid out game. Entertaining for kids no doubt about it! Luckily, my husband and I tried it out alone one night before we played it with the kids. By the last 3/4th of the game the object became clear---he who has the most money and life points wins. In and of itself, that would not be so bad...except...Careers that do not require degrees such as modeling and sports pay the most and careers that require degrees(which take longer to obtain and which you must continue to advance your education to get promos in) dont top out as much. Furthermore, degreed careers detrack from earning life points. You earn the most life points living it up on the adventure paths and having as many kids as you can. I felt sure that at the end of the game the fact that I had earned 4 different degrees would matter. However, when the computer totalled up the "points" to determine the winner it simply caculated how many houses we had, the type of car we had, how many kids we had, and then took that dollar figure and translated it into life points value. The End. This game is great if you dont care if your kids appreciate how hard work and devoting time to their education pays off in the long run...because in this game it truly doesnt. Boooooo Milton Bradley.
