Fire Hazard -- Negative 5 Stars September 23, 2005 C. M. Carroll (Florida) 31 out of 35 found this review helpful
All the Blitz cans using this design burp gasoline every time there is a change of temperature or baro pressure. With the cap closed, the vent is submerged in the fuel. When the can is exposed to the sun, fuel is forced up the spout and out of the seal. A major failure of oversight by the CPSC and UL.

I have never seen a product as poorly designed. You spill gas all over the car and yourself. Somebody is going to get killed using this. Hey Government Regulators... what are you waiting for?
blitz gas can two gallons--pain in the gas! December 9, 2005 Joseph Fulgione (Bronx, NY) 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
This type of gas can is now the only one that can be sold in NY & other states. It supposedly prevents spilling & leakage for environmental reasons. However, I've never spilled more gas in my life trying to use this plastic can. I had to go to an auto parts store to ask how to pour the gas. Also, it doesn't seal tightly. Since this is the only game in town, please familiarize yourself with its use before buying gas. There are no helpful instructions; you're on your own.
Zero stars if possible. June 10, 2007 J. Daily (Fort Worth, Tx United States) 14 out of 19 found this review helpful
I have never spilled as much gas as I have with this supposed "spill proof" can. What a major crock. That anyone thinks these cans were even necessary(probably some California moron) is proof of how stupid the u.s. has become. Even when I have spilled gas with the good old fashioned kind of can, it was nothing like what gushed out of this "spill proof" can. These should be yanked from the market asap.
Unsafe product October 1, 2005 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
The very small instruction lable that is attached to the can is not at all clear.Especially the tiny picture that shows the improper and dangerous method of storage with spout down in the the can.In addtion,a little gasoline geeting on the side of the can loosens the said lable and it is lost. Can not belive that you have not many complaints abut this poblem.I do not like the idea that the spout is always attached when not in use.
