Just like the V batteries, this is much improved May 16, 2007 Brian J. Buehler (Michigan, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
With this charger, I purchased a V18 battery pack to replace my badly aged 18 volt NiCad packs. I ordered one battery which I find to be a huge improvement over the old NiCad packs. The charger is much improved as well - packs that the old charger would not recognize now charge. The only negative is that the charger only charges 18 volt and 28 volt batteries. With the good quality of the new charger and battery pack, I'm looking forward to getting more of the Milwaukee V tools.
Great upgrade charger for NiCad owners too April 4, 2007 R. Dick (Tulsa, OK USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This charger is way better at topping off and keeping older Milwaukee NiCads charged then the older charger model. I highly recommend this as an upgrade to those using the older style charger that at least in my case would charge the battery then let it run down if it set on the charger unused for a week because it didn't have a proper top off trickle charge feature. This charger also seems to get a bit more juice into the Ni-cads as well, and of course it also charged the lithium ion batteries that are very powerful.
Works well but construction seems pretty "light" September 30, 2007 Alpaca Farmer This charges and maintains my batteries much better than the older style I had (which broke) - the float charge it provides seems to squeeze a longer run-time out of the same batteries. I worry that it won't last too long though as the plasic is relatively thin and light, and it needs to stand up to a bit of a beating in my powertool tool-bag. That being said, for its price, I'd probably buy another of the same if it does break.
I needed a second charger... March 22, 2008 J. Deck (Campbell, Ca. United States) Already owning several Milwaukee cordless tools, when I upgraded to Li-Ion, I wanted to take the rest of my tools as well. The only problem is when you purchase the upgrade batteries, you need a new charger as well. In this case I needed a charger for work to match the new one for home. Well Amazon.com came to the rescue.
Fast charger April 11, 2008 Michael P. Tashjian I have the older batteries(18 volt) along with a new Lithium Ion one. This Charger is able to charge both styles. From the literature it is able to recondition the older batteries to work better. So far the only downside if you can call it that is my teenage son can hear it squealing as it charges batteries. I can't hear it but I guess the teens can. Maybe another potential use, to chase the kids out on a nice day!
