Milwaukee 18v upgrade December 31, 2007 John A. Le Fever (Robinson, Il. USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Over the last ten years I have purchased around 12 of Milwaukee's 18v tools. I probably have 8-10 of their corded tools. Milwaukee's Lithium-ion batteries fit and perform as advertised(I have four now). Milwaukee is the only up scale tool manufacture to reto-fit the new battery technology to it's older products. Better than the old Ni-Cad's May 16, 2007 Brian J. Buehler (Michigan, USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've had a Milwaukee 18 volt hammer drill for a couple of years now. The drill is decent with the real high point being the excellent chuck. I also have one of the Milwaukee jobsite radios that gets almost daily use off the battery pack. The radio does not shut off with a low pack as advertised and has over drained both of my NiCad packs causing one to be totally useless. The Lithium battery packs are a huge improvement over the older style. I purchased one of them plus the associated charger and find the combination good enough to start mending the fence that Milwaukee tore down when they shut down their (used to be a great source of quality information) users forum.
It's about time!!! December 2, 2006 R. Cowling (Mid Michigan) 5 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am anxiously awaiting my first battery of this new line. Lithium Ion batteries are being used in so many devices now that I have been wondering when Milwaukee would come out with one. I have always trusted the 'red tools' above those 'yellow' variety toys... My father's 1/2 inch drill is still running solid and can still wrench your arm if you aren't careful... I certainly hope that Milwaukee doesn't go the 'Made in XXX' cheap and worthless direction so very many tool companies have been going. I'd hate to think that the world's best tool company would join those selling out their reputation and users to make more money on cheap junk toy's rather than the working man's tools... Keep up the great work Milwaukee!
Battery dead after 6 months March 24, 2008 S. White (Santa Ana, CA United States) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Bought two of these batteries 6 months ago to replace the NiCads that would go belly up after a year of light use. One of the two won't take a charge now. Get a flashing red green on the charger on the fourth charge, (in 6 months use). Milwaukee batteries are really bad. Too bad because I like the tools. No Energizer Bunny Here!

I just purchased the saw kit and extra battery and really put the sawzall to work dropping dead scrub oak trees of 6-10", limbing and cording them with a ten inch pruning-type blade...Lots of power and Love the low battery reader. I did have one battery heat up [hot to touch and too hot to charge; I hope I haven't killed it. This would be a worrisome concern with my porter cable or makita...we'll see... The batteries are more powerful but last much less time than my two previous tools above. I don't see this as a liability; I will soon purchase a three bay charger if I find I really need it. I have about seven hours of actual use on three batteries used on sawzall, circ saw, and drill. I do remodel work [30 years] so these puppies get real and daily use......OK, It's about 4 months since above review, and the battery that heated up shows no problems. Yes, the batteries are extremely strong and go fairly fast, but I still am mostly and easily working well with 3 batteries and one single gang charger. Thanks Milwaukee...
