 Poor quality bits, poor customer service March 3, 2008

One of these bits snapped off on the second use, and I've used it only to drill into douglas fir, avoiding any knots.
Worse still, Milwaukee customer service does not live up to the company's vaunted reputation. I sent the bit to the local authorized service center, as directed by the website, only to be told the Milwaukee warranty doesn't cover bits.
Not satisfied, I contacted the company directly, who said they would cover it if it was defective, but I'd have to send it to the regional service center (not the same place I sent it already). I contacted the place I sent it to originally, but have not been able to get them to return it to me (despite having enclosed a return envelope, postage prepaid, when I sent it to them).
All in all, I would say the entire experience has been very disappointing, and I will not buy another Milwaukee bit.
By the way, do not imagine that you are buying domestic just because of the name - like nearly everything else, these bits are made in China.

I purchased this set 6 months ago and I am amazed at the quality of the components! Everything has a feeling of being weightier than the competition. Being able to use double sided bits in a quick lok collar is brilliant, I've been waiting a long time for that one, well done Milwaukee! It has an excellent 6" extension with a quick lok collar that allows you to reach places without piggybacking an extension on a short quick lok collar. There are a surplus of bits, both 1" and 2". The magnetic bit holder is a welcome addition for when you're doing light work and have to change bits quickly. I love the hex shanks on the drill bits as well. I had one (3/32) break on me going into an oak hand rail, but I attribute this more to the size of the bit and the hardness of the material as opposed to the quality of the bit. This is truly an outstanding tool set and a great value here at Amazon. I highly recommend it to all pros as well as diy.Milwaukee 48-32-1500 38-Piece Quik Lok Bit Set

The package contains several bits that come in handy, but the 1/4" drill bit broke on the first use. I rate the quality of the drill bits as having poor metal quality. The hex bits are OK. However, I will not buy another kit like this from Milwaukee.

I have owned this kit for 6 months now and I'm down to 3 out of the 5 drilling bits. The 2 offenders snapped off like twigs.I have never broken a bit until now. Also, the case does not hold bits in there place when transporting. (I keep mine in my tool bag which gets moved around daily). Every time I open the box bits have slid all over the place.

Pretty much everything you need on a common basis. Build quality is superb. Can't go wrong. Locking case is sweet as well.
