Amazon.com Review While there are a number of rotary tools on the market made by a host of different manufacturers, the Dremel Moto Tool is the one they all strive to copy. Dremel's MultiPro variable-speed model is great for a huge range of projects, from home improvement tasks to hobbies and crafting. It has a continuously adjustable speed range from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, which allows the user to effectively work with materials as soft as balsa wood and as hard as ceramics. The kit comes with an assortment of accessories and a handy carrying case. Others may copy it, but Dremel has been making rotary tools so long they've come close to perfecting the idea. --Brian Trinen

My mother finally bought this for me! :) Thanx Mom! January 25, 2001 Rebecca Johnson (Washington State) 35 out of 37 found this review helpful
I talked about getting a Dremel for years, but I kept waiting for my husband to buy it for me. Well, finally my mother bought it for me. I secretly think she has some jobs she wants me to do around her house :). I love this Dremel because it has its own case! Very handy to keep all those tiny accessories. You know us women...we want everything organized. Then, I love the easy way you can change out the accessories to change jobs, etc. You can use this to cut wood, grind, sand, drill, sharpen and polish. There are over 150 different accessories available. That makes it easy to work on metal, ceramic, glass, wood, plastic and other materials. What I didn't realize is that there are also attachments, like a flexible shaft...sort of like using a "pen." Then there is a "right angle attachment" for certain jobs. WOW, and you can even buy a "router" attachment or a "router table." This just makes things way too easy :). This is so versatile and fun to use. The size of the Dremel is perfect. It fits right in your hand sort of like an oversized pen. The tip tapers so it is easy to be more precise. Definitely recommended :) ~The Rebecca Review
It is great for wood crafts.. January 4, 2001 Jimmy Allcorn (Coleman,Texas USA) 28 out of 37 found this review helpful
I now own two dremel tools.I do a lot of crafts like whirley jigs and picture frames.I like to make things myself out of wood because most of the ones you buy don't hold together but for a few years. And it is a lot of fun and takes your mind off the worldly things, like my job.Dremel tools are built good but they do wear out.I now have a router attachment and it is just like a small router. You can do small things like the State of Texas, which is bordered by rivers. The Dremel makes it easy and a lot of fun to create things. You can do almost anything with it.From whirley jigs (that work in the wind) to nice designs on picture frames.I would highly recomemd this product to any one that piddles with wood. For fun or for hobbies. If you do crafts with wood then you need one of these.I finally wore mine out, after about three years. But the first year I was a little to hard on it.Making it do what I wanted it to do instead of letting it cut the wood on it's own.
I'm in love!! January 7, 2002 Kristi (Escondido, Ca.) 27 out of 29 found this review helpful
I finally got one! For Christmas a good friend of mine got me a Dremmel. I AM IN LOVE!!! I go to Home Depot and pick up their scrap wood to come home and make...anything! I even use my Dremmel on my acrylic nails (yep, my finger nails)! It works much better than my Igia! I am currently working on my collection of attachments. So far, my favorite are the engravers. I engrave everything I get my hands on! As I said... I AM IN LOVE!!! I'm thinking of breaking something so I can use my Dremmel to fix it!
What's not to love?? January 24, 2002 27 out of 29 found this review helpful
The documentation and literature included with this product deserve high praise. There are so many different attachments for this rotary tool, that you could easily find yourself wondering where to start. I was able to use the literature to help organize all of the attachments, AND easily figure out what attachments that I wanted to buy for upcoming projects. The quality of the tool itself is superior! I trust the Dremel name, and the company stands behind their product. Why is theprogrammer writing a review about the Dremel?? Well, I do other things that don't involve a computer. I have a house to take care of, and I love power tools just like other guys! Everyone needs one of these!

I purchased this kit at a discount store last fall with birthday money. I'm still finding new ways to put it to work. The array of attachments provide unlimited possibilities. I use it to keep all my other power tools clean and sharp, including the lawn mower blade. It does big cutting jobs on wood and composites or sheet metal, in little places like under between joists under floors or in ceilings and walls. I love the way it flush cuts protruding nails and screws. Easy does it; several passes taking a small amount off at a time works best. Lately, I've been using it to grind out welds on rear axles of tricycles which I repair for the preschool where my wife teaches. The Multi-Pro is great for shaping and sanding small wooden projects, too. It's just the tool for many of the remodeling and repair jobs I do.
