Amazon.com Product Description Tired of that battery-powered screwdriver being dead when you need it most? Here's an alternative. Surprisingly powerful and stunningly lightweight, Black & Decker's 3.6-Volt Cordless Screwdriver features the best energy-to-weight ratio and longest-lasting charge available. Just the right weight and style for assembling furniture, hanging curtains, and mounting light fixtures, this tool is powered by a lithium-ion battery that holds a charge up to 18 months longer than comparable nickel-cadmium-powered drivers. A very forgiving power screwdriver for those who hate cords but frequently forget to recharge, the lithium-ion battery also helps this tool deliver 20 percent more power than Ni-Cad tools. When it is time for a recharge, a fixed, internal battery lets you just drop the whole tool into the included charging base, rather than detaching it from the tool and attaching it to the charger, a process that sometimes takes longer than driving the darn screw. Half the size of most screwdrivers in its class, this tool is great for working in tight quarters and around tough corners. Powerful and durable enough for years of household use, the tool's pistol grip makes overhead driving a much more comfortable task than you'll experience with in-line drivers that require an uncomfortably bent elbow that shortens reach. And, at just 2.6 pounds, there's no more dying strain to finish extended overhead driving tasks. Not that there'll be such a thing as extended applications. This driver spins screws at 180 rotations per minute and churns out 48-inch pounds of torque, easily rivaling most drill/drivers pound for pound, and definitely providing a welcome rest for the wrist. Best of all, Black and Decker's Grab-N-Go charger mounts to walls for easy access. The purchase is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. --Brian Olson What's in the Box cordless screwdriver, charging base, 40 accessory bits.

Usefull, but could be improved! March 24, 2006 Bustin Justin (Socal) 73 out of 75 found this review helpful
This is a nice little tool that you can keep in a kitchen drawer or your car for a pretty long time and not worry about it loosing its charge. I really like the small compact size. It also has a decent accessory set with it. Here is where I think it needs improvement: *No variable control (on or off only) *The speed is pretty slow *No clutch which makes it difficult tighten any screw on with any accuracy w/o taking out another manual screw driver to finish it off. *not enough power to tackle even a 1-1/4 wood screw into a 2x* * You cant lock the shaft (I would want this to finish tightening a screw that this unit doesnt have enough power for) I realize this tool is not designed to replace a larger cordless drill and this does have many uses, but with todays technology B&D can do better.
powerful, long lasting battery, more bits than you'll ever need March 16, 2006 Tough Critic (NYC) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
handy screwdriver, powerfull enough to drill long screws into hard wood. Pistol grip handle means it's short so it can fit in tight spaces. Battery holds a charge for a long time (haven't had to recharge it yet (installed a kitchen, and 6 sets of blinds).
I don't understand January 27, 2006 Rachel (Winona, MN) 11 out of 20 found this review helpful
I don't understand how Amazon can say the regular price on this item is $60 and it has been discounted to $39.99 when all the b&m stores have it at a regular price of $39.99. I have noticed this with a lot of Amazon's "so called" deals.
This is one cool cordless tool! April 24, 2006 L. Gray 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
At $29.99, this is a cool deal! I love mine. It is always ready to go....and I don't have to always drag out the larger cordless drill. The accessories that came with it are great too. I also bought a grinder from Ace to fit on it so I can sharpen my garden tools with it. I use mine a lot, but to be honest I have not tried to put 3" screws in hardwood. I would not trade mine in, it fits a niche in my tool cabinet and I am glad I have it.
Great Little Power Screwdriver! January 3, 2007 Vyshtia (CA, USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I really like this little power screwdriver. I'm refinishing all my kitchen cabinets and this little driver was absolutely invaluable in this project. I have full size cordless drivers, but they're too bulky and heavy for continuous use for something like simple unscrewing/screwing in large amounts of screws. In my project, I had to unscrew/screw pulls, hinges, mounting brackets, slides, outlet covers etc.. I was able to carry around and use this driver all day for all my various projects without the battery dying or giving out on me. I don't miss not having adjustable speed or torque because what it's got is perfect for screwing in simple wood screws. Don't expect it to replace a full size power drill - that's not what thing was made for. It's for smaller tasks...and surprisingly, I guess I had a whole lot more smaller tasks than I thought. I've gotten lazy now and hate messing with a manual screwdriver anymore when it's so much easier and faster to just pick up this tool. The recharging stand is very discreet, cute, and useful. It's very easy to dock the screwdriver and know it will be fully charged whenever you need it. I've also kept the screwdriver in a drawer for weeks at a time, to find it still had plenty of juice in it for a quick project. The battery lasts a surprisingly long time. All in all - I would recommend this item. It's been very useful around the house and very reliable.
