Customer Reviews:
Looks nice, but that's about it. May 3, 2007 Kat (Mesa, AZ USA) This was Christmas gift for my dad and his wife (she's Chinese) and while she was super excited to see that it was a Chinese gift (the box it comes in gave it away) she wasn't super excited anymore once it was out. One thing I never realized when I wrapped it was that when you set it on a level table, it wobbles. This is because its cheaply made. Honestly, it could just be the one that I received, however the welding or however they put it together just wasn't right. Additionally, the gong disc (the part you hit to make it chime) is hanging from teeny tiny red string that broke just as soon as I struck the gong once to test it out. Imagine my embarrasment when it fell apart in front of my dad and his wife, not 5 minutes after I had given it to them as a gift. Now when I visit my dad, he does have it out on display, but its sort of tucked away. I have replaced the string on it twice already and the gong disc continues to cut the string anytime it swings, so no doubt it will fall off again. I also should mention that the company who ships it did not do an incredibly great job packaging it. The box the gong comes in (which is a decorative display-type box with latch) was also torn and broke and I had to repair it before giving it to my dad. There wasn't enough time to return it before Christmas. Additionally, it was a result of cheap materials and poor packing, so if they'd send another one, the same thing would most certainly happen. All in all, its a nice piece to look at. The dragons are nice, as is the shiny gong disc, and the sound/chime it makes when you hit it. The little mallet is cute and it does look nice, however just keep in mind all the trouble with shiping, damage, it falling apart, badly assembled, etc. It could be just the one I got, but let's just say I wouldn't take a chance ordering this same product again.
