Great axe for a hiking trip January 23, 2006 L. M. Herron (Georgia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This axe is a lightweight, yet powerful cutter. It's great from removing branches from downed trees and for cutting through the tree itself. Very versatile. It will split wood, or cut through a large tree trunk. Handle is virtually unbreakable. I've used it for a pry bar. The cutting edge can easily be sharpened such that it will shave the hair off your arm!
Great Axes July 21, 2006 Elgriton 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got the 28" splitting axe and liked it so much I got the 28" chopper. At that time I got the Fiskars sharpener and let me tell you that after a few passes I got both axes to shave hairs off of my forearm. These cost a little more than the regular axes but if you take pride in your tools and like functional beauty they are well worth it. To those that say that the handle still breaks well you can break just about anything if you mis-use it. I hear the warranty is pretty good.
less fatigue, more split wood February 17, 2006 jeff speth (farmington, mo) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
you need to get used to the short handle, but after that you won't use anything else. incredible splitter for how light it is. excellent camp tool. stays sharp , excellent metals
great stuff December 30, 2007 Janet P. Geib (Juliette, Ga) I bought a Fiskar axe and sharpener. I've used the axe before and decided to get one of my own. It stays sharp through alot of wood especially fat lighter. Great product.
great ax February 27, 2008 Marc Oplinger performed as advertised and noted by other reviewers on light duty yard work and log splitting for fire wood. can easily see this as a must have for any woodsman.
