very good vacuum December 16, 2008 Jane Sherman (New York, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The vacuum is all it was described as: easy to use, great suction, easily accessible and functional accessories. It is, however, a bit hard to push...until you turn on the self-propelled feature -- and then, off you go like Superwoman, flying over the floor. Wheee!!!
Mixed Feelings But Good Vacuum December 22, 2008 Gort (San Jose, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this vacuum mainly for the self-propelled feature. My wife has some medical issues which causes pain in her arms, and our old vacuum was just too difficult for her to use. We got the Hoover U6485-900, and it works as advertised. When activated, it self-propels easily making vacuuming an easy chore. We also like the on-board tools which are easy to use and stored in easy to reach places. The only reason I don't give this four or five stars is because of how the vacuum was shipped to us. It shipped in its product box which, when received, was beat-up and torn (it should've been double boxed for protection). In addition, it looked like the box may (and I have to stress the may since it was hard to tell) have been opened. The main hose to the unit has small plastic tabs that hold it in place. One of the tabs was shorn off which caused me to contact Hoover for a replacement (it was free, and I received it within a few days). The vacuum itself is great; how you might receive it is the concern.
