Heavy but it sure is bright! April 25, 2007 B. Valentine (Seattle, WA) 42 out of 43 found this review helpful
In my opinion, this is the king of spotlights! 20M candle power! I didn't believe it when I read it, but I had to buy it anyways just to be sure and after using this spot light, I believe it now! I use a spotlight on my ranch mainly during calving season, where you have to drive around in the fields checking the cows at all hours of the night. I have used these spotlights in the past: Vector 3-Million Candlepower Mega Sport Rechargeable Spot Light #VEC139Y and you can get decent light out of them, but the trigger button has failed on all three of them I have owned, so it was time to try a new one. The durability of this unit is better than the Vector and I have had no problems with it yet. There is one thing to note here... the Vector is heavy at 7 lbs - you might not think it's that heavy until you have to hold it out the window of the truck for a while - but this 20 million candle power beast sets the record - coming in a 11.6 lbs - WOW! If nothing else, you will get buff holding this bad boy for any period of time. This baby can put out the light... this is the first spot light I have used where I can stand on the deck of the house and spot the cows in the fields at over 1000 yards away and see them clearly. Recharging time is no more or less than other products in this class of spotlights that I have used. One note of caution - be careful with this monster, I am sure you can fry eyeballs with it if you are not careful.
Has an LED light built into the handle June 20, 2007 Joseph Plummer (Litchfield, Ohio USA) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
You can actually see the LED flashlight in the picture of the product, but (as of this writing) Amazon hasn't included this extra feature in the product description. That's a shame. For changing a tire, providing light inside a tent or during a power outage, even walking down a trail in the woods, it supplies plenty of light and it will run for up to 10 days on a single charge. It's a great extra option to have. A few other things this light has that my last spotlight didn't: * LED "charge status" lights so you can easily monitor how much battery power you have left. * A built in "angle stand" so you can shine the light where you need it. * ON/OFF switches, instead of a "trigger switch" --In other words, you don't have to continue squeezing a trigger to provide light, you simply flip a switch and the light stays on until you turn it off. Also, the overall "feel" of quality is high. It's big, rugged, and appears well built. So far so good.
Most powerful light on you will find May 7, 2007 J. Lucas 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
Wow! When you turn this spotlight on, it is incredible! Keep in mind, though, the reason it is so powerful is dual headlights, so to speak. Two side by side lamps will always be more powerful. But, that ends up as a feature to go to one lamp to save power. You will also like the car lighter output socket, which allows external devices to be powered. Works well for camping trips.
The brightest spotlight I've ever seen June 26, 2007 George M. Meiser (Reading, PA USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
While nowhere on the box or instruction sheet does the name Black and Decker appear, the unit is obviously of superior quality, and unlike many of its brethren, it holds its charge well. I bought the unit to acquire a spotlight that would provide genuinely strong illumination. It exceeds my greatest expectations in that the beam is incredibly bright and can cast light visible a mile away. I showed it to two police officers in our area who commented that the unit is far brighter than anything at their disposal. They were profoundly astounded at its performance, as was I the first time I turned it on. MORE: Added 1/7/08. Had need of the unit many months after its purchase...and discovered it had fully held its charge. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. It was last charged in July 2007! ASTOUNDING. Lesser spotlights purchased previously lost their charges rapidly. MORE: Added 3/20/08. Hadn't been used since Jan.'08 but needed it the other night. STILL charged. Had both "headlights" on--full blast--for 30 min. before it dimmed. The charge held from July '08 till March '08! Really ASTOUNDING.
Not As Advertised September 10, 2007 Gregory Frank 9 out of 18 found this review helpful
I like strong spotlights. I purchased the 20 million candlepower Vector expecting great things. I was very disappointed to see the beam was nowhere as bright as my 10 million candlepower spotlight. When I complained to the manufacturer, they replied that "brightness was a matter of personal oppinion." What a stupid response. That is akin to saying that a 100 watt light bulb is no brighter than a 50 watt light bulb. Careful of this product, you will be disappointed.
