Wish I used this sooner August 14, 2007 William Arnold (Bellevue, Nebraska USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I had a lightning strike near my house which wiped out my router, network switch, and motherboard-based network adapter. I had a UPS so assumed I was safe but it looks like I got a voltage spike on my cable tv line which then spread from the router to my ethernet cable. Now, my cable, ethernet, and power connectors are all protected should such a thing ever happen again! Plus, the wide spacing of the outside outlets on this Belkin surge protector allow me to connect all my network gear, two computers and monitors, and my entertainment center. I did considerable research before selecting this surge supressor and am very satisfied.
Best Surge protector September 16, 2007 F. Khan (New York, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Wow 12 outlets. It's very spacious. Easily accommodates 6 big adapters. Has cable, Telephone options too. The only thing I disliked is that it comes with Black wire when most of the walls and floors at homes and offices are white due to which wire doesn't blend in with the walls but that is not a big issue. I have two children at home. They used to keep touching the adapters and wires connected to different outlets because my previous surge protector couldn't accommodate everything because of narrow space b/w the outlets on it as I have a lot of things connected to the TV. Now I can keep everything in one place hidden behind the TV. It comes with a 10 feet wire that is another advantage. Office Depot sells exacts same product for $76 + Tax with it's own brand name on it. What a rip off.
In comparsion to the Monster Protector October 28, 2007 Lou M (Brooklyn, NY United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Recently we purchased a Sharp Aquos HD flat panel LCD televsion from J&R Music World. I wanted to protect my investment so I purchased the Belkin Outlet Home protector from Amazon.com. After 3 days, I did not receive the Belkin protector unit. Amazon's delivery policy is not what it use to be--I use to receive items in a couple of days, now I have to wait a week. Anyway, in the interim, I went back to J&R Music World and purchased a Monster surge protector. When I received the Belkin from Amazon, the quality difference was quite noticeable. The Belkin is truly a superb protector and it is half the price of the Monster unit. I would definately buy the Belkin again, but if you're anxious to use it quickly, I suggest purchasing it at a local store.
Great surge protector with one small issue August 13, 2007 Lewis K. Spade (Chico, CA USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm currently using this surge protector for my computer room in my apartment, and it has enough outlets for two Xbox 360s, two monitors, two pairs of speakers, two PCs, a battery charger, printer, network switch, and I've still got an open outlet. Prior to this, I was using a 7 outlet surge protector, also from Belkin, and was constantly switching plugs. I need to play Xbox with a friend, well, I guess I don't need the printer right now. Wait, actually I do, let me switch to headphones for a bit and unplug my speakers. Dang, that was the network. Guess we'll have to start that level over. The only problem I've seen with this surge protector is that unplugging devices has popped out the sliders that block the outlets. They pop back in fairly easily, but I'm sure I'm going to lose them before too long. I guess the good thing is that I don't need to plug and unplug nearly as often anymore.
Space for BIG plugs September 23, 2007 kac (Beaverton, Oregon United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this because of the expanded space for big plugs. I don't know why they bother to make surge protectors without room for the large plugs computers have. To me it seems unsafe to plug multiple surge protectors into each other so you can get ALL of your computer stuff hooked up.
