RECONDITIONED STRING TRIMMER February 18, 2008 Thomas A. Nupp (Silver City NM) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
It's hard to find a .080 ga. electric string trimmer and I was a bit reluctant to buy a reconditioned one but I went ahead and purchased one of these reconditioned trimmers. Upon inspection it looks like the only part that wasn't replaced with new parts was the motor/upper shaft assembly. I tested the thing out completely and found it to be in excellent condition. I was so impressed that I purchased a second one and with the free shipping I figure that the overall cost of two of these reconditioned units is still cheaper than buying a new one. TN
Great Product March 26, 2008 Jason Lowe 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had a Ryobi gas trimmer for about 5 years. However, I've had to get it serviced twice and now the service calls are about as much as a new trimmer. I saw this online and was excited that it accepted all of my attachments. I used it the other day and it worked great. Once I realized that all I needed to do was wrap the cord around my hand to keep it from coming unplugged, I had no complaints. I have all of the Ryobi "Expand-It" attachments. I used the weed trimmer, edger and blower and they all worked great. It was so nice not to have to worry about starting it, putting the gas mixture in and all of that. From now on I'M ALL ELECTRIC!

VERY GOOD AND VERSITILE PRODUCT. AND THE BEST THING, NO TRIPS TO THE GAS STATION OR MIXING OIL/GAS.
Reconditioned in this case means USED April 27, 2008 Dr. Jekyll (Honolulu, HI) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The product was listed as reconditioned but came in as used. Really used. I have purchased B stock and reconditioned items before but never in such bad shape. It looked like it came from a garage sale. I was very disappointed.
Would not buy this again. May 5, 2008 R. Ferguson (Earth) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've had this trimmer for two years (purchased new). It does not have a lot of mileage on it; somewhere between a dozen and two dozen jobs. It worked fine for an electric trimmer. When it came time to add more string, however, I was unable to remove the lock nut. Without going into nitty-gritty detail, the plastic housing holding the string had become stripped. I was forced to cut the entire assembly off and replace it with a new one. Were I looking for a new electric string trimmer, I would probably look at something like the Stihl FSE 60.
