Perfect size for younger children October 22, 2007 T. Waldher (Bremerton, WA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 2 year old twins (27 months) love their 10" trike! The 12" one they have at Grandmas is way to big and they get frustrated with it because they can barely touch the ground and tip over on easily. The 10" one they have no problem with. Im going to have to buy a 2nd one so they will each have their own!
Unsafe at Any Speed December 26, 2006 Justanod (New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The shiny chrome handle bars cannot be tightened properly. The result is a constant misalignment, and a consistent loosening of the front wheel assembly. "Why did my bike break into two pieces, daddy?" wondered my three year old as I tried picking-up the bike by the handle bar.
Not happy with it. January 27, 2007 sammy 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It wasn't worth to invest into this 3cycle. As some of the previous posters stated the handbar missalignes. The 3cycle is heavy and it still tips over in the curve while driving it at faster speed. It's difficult to pedal it and by the time the child gets old enough to pedal it and wants to go faster, it tips over. Bad design over all.
Handlebars Slip May 29, 2007 mommacass (Palmyra, VA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This trike is adorable, but the handlebars do not stay aligned. They slip and turn easily in the shaft and do not stay where they should no matter how tightly you set the bolt. I lined the insertion bar with duct tape to give it some grip and that works for a while before I have to do it again. My son did have trouble peddling at first. He is two and has never been on a bike before, so that was to be expected. After a couple of months of practice he has had no problem peddling the trike. He is now two and a half years old and still plenty small enough to get quite a bit more use out of the tricycle. Until he figured out the pedals, he was able to walk the trike. This tricycle has not tipped while my son is riding it. For a two-year-old, he gets it going pretty fast - believe me, this child is a total kamakaze. He has already fractured his skull, cracked his cheeck bone, and is always one giant bruise with his wild antics, but he hasn't had a single accident on this trike. My older kids (4,5, and 6) could probably tip this trike, but they really are too big to be on it in the first place. This is the smaller model of the radio flyer tricycle and is for the little bitties. It is rated for 2-4 but I would say 2-3. It's ok for smaller 4 year-olds, but if you are buying a trike for a 4 year-old, a larger model or even a small bike with training weels will be a better investment. Overall, I love this trike, but the shifting handlebars have been an enormous headache for me having to constantly fix them and for my son constantly unable to steer his trike. If it were not for that significant flaw, I would have rated this tricycle a 5 star.
A fun little tricycle for a toddler. December 3, 2006 T. Jones (Cedar Rapids Area, Iowa USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this tricycle for my nephew for his second birthday. Although it may be a little beyond him, he was still dazzled by it. The seat is comfortable enough for them to stay on it and is adjustable. Assembly is pretty straight forward and simple. I gave it 4 stars because there were a couple parts that seemed a little flimsy. The rear step is press formed and a little thin. The same process was used for the seat. Another minor defect was that the seat wasn't perfectly square to the body. Since the adjustable rod for the seat is squared, when you tighten the set screw, it forces it to that offcenter point. Something I noticed, but it's not dramatic and certainly wouldn't affect the ridability. A fun toy for a toddler in your life!
