poorly constructed & poor sound quality February 16, 2007 Julie Getz (Arvada, CO USA) 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
My 3 year old son recieved this piano for Christmas. Within one week, it was broken, and not from misuse. In order for him to move the piano, he has to pick it up by the red top. There are flimsy wooden pegs that are used to hold the red top onto the piano. These pegs broke off and now the top will not stay on. Despite the broken top, my son still likes to play with the piano and is very interested in its inner workings. The sound quality does not bother him but, it does me. I am disappointed in the quality of this toy, especially for the price I paid for it.
Wonderful Toy... February 14, 2007 Rosa (Miami, FL USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased this piano for my one-year-old niece, who loves music. It has quickly become one of her favorite toys, which will no doubt provide entertainment for her for years to come. The bright colors are adorable and the sound quality is pretty darn good for a toy. Highly recommend!
Excelent choice! January 2, 2008 Lori Romo (Monterrey, Mexico) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was a Christmas present for my 2.8 year old and was a big hit. He really loves music and my husband is a good piano player so it is a good start to learn his first steps into piano. I really like that is a traditional little piano, not complicated, not electric, just what a little kid needs, and I also think this is a really good brand for wooden toys.
Diva's Mama November 27, 2007 Diva's Mama (MD, USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The piano I received was exactly like the picture. Did not have any problems with it coming apart. My 9 month old loves it. She is always supervised when playing with it, of course. The sound is definitely toy-like and the keys sometimes get stuck if you're playing more than one key at a time. But it's a toy and that's what I expected. I would say it is definitely a good value compared to the more expensive toy pianos. It's a good start to learning how to play the piano with one finger. My daughter still likes to play with me on the real piano but she is more comfortable sitting on the floor with this toy piano.
Wonderful for the budding musician! March 13, 2008 R. Mercer (Midwest, US) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had heard great things about Melissa & Doug toys and was not let down with this little piano. We bought it for our 2.5 year-old who loves to bang away at people's pianos. It has provided much entertainment and is worth every penny. Another reviewer commented on the sound. Sure, it's not perfectly on par with a real piano, but I think it's pretty darn great for no bigger than it is. I think you can only expect so much from a toy, and this one exceeded my expectations! I also have not had any durability issues, but it was made clear to my daughter from day one that she wasn't to pick it up and move it around because I didn't want her to drop it and ruin it, though it is quite sturdy. I also don't let her sit or climb on it, though it looks like it would hold her with no problem.
