The mats came in good condition including no missing parts. The pieces are fun to work as a puzzle. It seems to be enough cushion in order to use well on a floor. The mat does not have an odor at all. I ended up splitting it with my daughter. I have half with the borders and she has half without all the borders. We have not used the mat yet, due to the fact that the children are still very young. Just purchased it to be ready for them to be able to take a nap on it without sleeping on a hard floor.
