Cute puzzle... January 31, 2007 Sofia Hernandez (Astoria, NY USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Cute puzzle... but that is all it is. A simple basic puzzle. Colors are beautiful. The baby bites the pieces and the older kids ignore it... you might want to skip it unless you have a little avid puzzle collector at home.
Nice puzzle but not his favorite January 10, 2007 SLN (San Mateo, CA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son (now 16 mons) has several Melissa and Doug Chunky Puzzles and likes them all. He plays with the pieces like they are blocks and trys to rotate the pieces to fit into the puzzle. (Claps when he succeeds.) Anyway, they are good toys for young toddlers. This one was introduced at Christmas but was eclipsed by a new Thomas the Tank Engine set so I don't know that it got the chance that it deserves. But he still likes it (not as much as his new trains) and not as much as some of this other Melissa and Doug Chucky Puzzles. But it's still a great toy and I look forward to using it to vocabulary build when he's a little older.
Cute toy but poor quality December 21, 2007 E. Bender (Milwaukee, WI United States) My 16 month old son recieved this toy for Christmas from his Grandmother. As soon as we took the wrapping off he began playing with it which we took to be a good sign. Unfortunately, as soon as he started dropping pieces on the floor the paint began chipping. By the end of the first day we had this toy at least half the pieces have rather large chunks of paint missing. Even if it isn't toxic I still don't want him exposed to chipping paint. In general, we have had this problem with every Melissa and Doug toy we own. Our son loves them but the paint chips very easily. I love the concept of these toys but they have some serious quality issues that need to be addressed. I will be contacting the manufacturer directing about replacing this puzzle.
The Best December 27, 2007 Teresa Stuff (MI USA) These are the best puzzles ever. I got them for my nephew and grandson for Christmas and they love them.
Lots of fun March 10, 2008 Melissa Brown My 22-month-old has loved doing puzzles for 1/2 year now. He received several Melissa and Doug's chunky puzzles for Christmas and loves to play with them. My only complaint on this particular puzzle is the starfish is difficult to get in. He sometimes whines when he can't get it to fit. There is only one correct way to put it in despite the appearance that it would fit in many ways. Several other moms have commented on how they don't like that starfish piece when they have helped me clean up after playgroup.
