Daughter's love January 16, 2007 V. Lafleur (Acushnet, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter loves the backyardagains. Austin completed her collection of all 5 of them, now she can't go to sleep without them. She loves them all but Austin is her favorate because he's purple... it's great!
The Purple Kangaroo April 3, 2007 Janet Boyer (Pennsylvania) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son LOVES the Backyardigans and we've now begin to collect all five stuffed animals from Ty (he began with Tasha since he loves hippos!). Austin is a shy purple kangaroo who often plays enigmatic characters--such as the dapper, monocled, Mr. Frothingslosh (see The Mystery of the Jeweled Eggs). Well-stitched and adorable, the Ty version of Austin has him wearing a striped shirt and solid blue pants (they're non-removable). And his tail? Sticking out from his pants, of course! From a distance, the Ty Backyardigans may look like they're made of rough, itchy fabric--but they are not. The fabric is soft and smooth--somewhat like chenille. If your child loves the Backyardigans, enjoys fantasy play (like tea parties or role playing), or perhaps needs a friend to keep him/her company at bedtime--Austin would make a wonderful present! (Now all we need is Uniqua and Tyrone!)
GREAT GIFT FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN May 12, 2007 Jamie B. Evans (Delaware) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
WHAT DO YOU BUY FOR YOUR GRANDKIDS? SOMETHING THEY LOVE. THESE STUFFED TOYS MADE THE PERFECT SURPRISE FOR THEM!
Great depiction of Austin, great size, cuddly - a winner. June 6, 2007 Joshua G. Feldman (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter is nuts for the Backyardigans. She's got plushies of them in several sizes. These mid-sized Ty beanie babies are the best of the lot. This is a well made plushie - it really looks like Austin - captures his panache (he's the shy nice one). It's very soft and cuddly - yet it holds its shape well. It's tough - none of them have every blown out a seam. They are just the right size too - not too big (they are small enough for the day bag and get carried everywhere - about the size of tot's forearm)- and not too small (tiny ones get lost too easily). It's a winner.
construction could be better April 21, 2008 A. Christine McEwan (North Wales, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter has all 5 of the Backyardigan figures; however, Austin is not constructed as well as the others. The stitching around his mouth is coming loose, so it looks like he has teeth (white thread showing). Also, his neck is a bit too loose. My daughter loves him, though.
