After a whole year - it keeps on glowing! December 31, 2007 Bridget Young (Worcester, MA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My daughter got "Ni Nite Bear" (as she calls him) for a Christmas present last year. He was an instant hit. She was 18 months at the time. Now she's 2.5 and still in love with it. We even brought the bear on a trip where a hotel stay was involved, and having that 'bit of home' with us really helped her to sleep well and fall asleep easily. The bear has only required 3 battery changes since last year and the only way that you can really tell it needs them is that the lights are dimmer (not a bad thing) and that fewer colors will show. Instead of red, pink, green, purple, blue and yellow, you might only see red, green and blue. It really is a marvelously simple toy, but one that I really am happy I purchased and would purchase again (thinking about buying a spare, or another for my 5 yr old who is jealous of it!) in a heartbeat! The battery compartment is well concealed, making it almost non existent to the child. Once you open the velcro on the back, the compartment itself is screwed shut and the batteries cannot be removed - again, a plus with kids. Another obscure plus - we have a video monitor and I can see my daughter sleeping peacefully next to her glowing bear at night. Its really neat. Not educational, but not noisy or annoying, very soothing and well-loved.
Glo-E stopped glowing after only 2 months! March 3, 2008 raymommy (NJ United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought the concept of this toy was brilliant. Especially for children who fuss going to bed. My daugther love this when she got it for Christmas. However after just 2 months it is very hard to turn it on (using the button on the paw) It seems like its misaligned or just dead. Also this bear eats batteries like you wouldn't beleive....we changed the batteries 3 times in two months!
Wonderful addition! February 8, 2008 J. Truax 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 3 year old got this for Christmas when she was 2. The thing EATS batteries and it can't be washed in a machine BUT she LOVES it! I love that if she gets scared at night or can't find her blankie at night that she just presses the bears hand and he lights up. She has taken great comfort from having her bear with her. Plus the bear turns itself off after a short while. On occassion she has used it to play instead of sleep but overall I would highly recommend this bear despite some of the draw backs. (batteries and can't be washed in a machine) We WILL be buying a new one should this one get lost or stop working.
great toy December 17, 2007 Mariah Hardiman (Atlanta, Ga) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
These bears are the coolest. The light up all different colors like a raver bear. I gave one out for Christmas last year and have bought one to give out this year as well.
The dumb surprise of Christmas! January 7, 2008 E. Bacon 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We saw this on special for about $7 one day in mid-December and tossed it in on another order. We wrapped it up in a needlessly huge box and put it under the tree. Figured it would be a one-day wonder, but fun in any event. Well, it now has premier placement at the foot of the 11-year old's bed and does its advertised light show (up to five choices) as promised, every night. Shuts off as promised. Spent much more on other things, none of which proved nearly as successful. Came with batteries and worked right out of the box.
