Product Description The Frog Pod, winner of the JPMA 2005 Innovation Award, is a bath toy scoop, drain and storage unit all in one. It is designed to simplify the maintenance of a typical toddler bathtub environment. Simply scoop it up to rinse bath toys in bulk - the Frog Pod helps eliminate dangerous mildew and bath residue on the toys. A hidden shelf provides a convenient space for shampoo and other bath products. The Frog Pod can be attached to virtually any shower or bathtub wall. Base is simple to detach from the adhesive bracket for easy cleaning. NOTE: This is not a toy. Never leave a child unattended when bathing. This product should always be mounted up out of reach of toddlers and used only under adult supervision. Never apply excessive force to or allow children to hang onto or from Frog Pod. Do not load the Frog with more than 10 pounds of toys or accessories. Prior to installation remove packaging and fasteners and discard properly.
Amazon.com Review As every parent knows, rubber duckies and tug boats tend to multiply in the tub. Rather than allowing them to pile up on the bathroom floor or sit in an empty bath once the splish-splashing is over, try the fun and functional Frog Pod. | | The detachable scoop makes collecting and cleaning tub toys a cinch. | This bright green plastic frog hangs on the bathroom wall and features a detachable scoop that makes collecting and cleaning tub toys a cinch. Simply grab the large handle, sweep up any straggling toys, hold the scoop under the tub's faucet to rinse off its contents, and then snap the entire thing back on the Frog Pod base. It's so easy you might even find your child cleaning up the tub after getting clean upped themselves! A built-in shelf at the top of the wall-mounted base holds shampoo, soap, or other bath products, while additional toys and sponges can be hung from the amphibian's 14 splayed toes. A feature that parents can appreciate: the hard plastic is mildew-resistant. | | Mount with adhesive strips, suction cups, or screws. | The base can be mounted on any bathroom wall one of three ways: adhesive strips, suction cups, or screws. One set of adhesive strips is included with the Frog Pod, but these are not reusable. A replacement kit of adhesive strips and screws can be purchased separately from the manufacturer. Also available separately from the manufacturer is a wall mount bracket that has eight suction cups attached to it. This bracket can be removed and remounted as often as necessary. Packaging cautions that no more than 10 pounds (10 pounds!) be held by the Frog Pod at any given time.
Editorial Review As every parent knows, rubber duckies and little toy boats tend to multiply in the bath. Rather than allowing them to lurk underfoot on the bathroom floor or sit forlornly in the empty tub once the splish-splashing is over, why not scoop `em up with the ever-so-cute Frog Pod? This bright green plastic frog can be mounted on any bathroom wall with the included bracket and adhesive. A built-in shelf at the top stores shampoo or other bath products, while (this is the best part) the removable scoop can be used to pick up, rinse, and drain toys. Additional toys or scrubby sponges can be hung from the frog's splayed fingers and toes. There's plenty of room for toys (no more than 10 pounds' worth is the packaging caution
10 pounds!), and the design is charming and appealing to grownups and kids alike. To avoid trouble with the Frog Pod falling off the wall, make sure to follow mounting directions carefully. It's especially important to use a dry wall, allow for a long adhesive curing time, and don't cross the grout with the adhesive strips. Once it's really on, the frog pod should provide handy, stylish, and mildew-free bath toy storage for a good long time. And no yucky, useless suction cups! --Emilie Coulter

Advice for those having trouble with it falling June 6, 2006 Q 78 out of 80 found this review helpful
First, we've had ours up for several months now without issue, and LOVE it. It drains well, since it's hard plastic it doesn't mildew, stores the shampoo bottles, and his toes are great for hanging things (poofs, toys, etc). BUT, you cannot allow the double stick tape to cross a grout line (or similar indentation, if you have a molded tub/shower surround). Doing so allows water/air behind the tape and it will lose grip! This could be an issue if you have small tile. It is possible to cut the tape so that it only attaches to complete tiles. Thankfully, my shower has 4" x 4" tiles so this was not an issue. Hopefully that'll help someone! Edit: Almost one year later - still holding strong! We've had no issues with it falling at all (and it's LOADED!). LOVE it! And another edit (10/13/08): So, a year and a half later, our luck ran out. Last night our frog fell and scared the bejeezers out of me. Again, it was very fully loaded (the entire tub is now full of toys/scrubbies/shampoo bottles). Honestly, I'll be looking into options to re-adhere it. We love it too much to let having to re-hang it every couple years deter us from continuing to use it! Edit 10/27/08: So, 2 weeks after it finally fell off the wall (2.5 years after we'd first hung it) - it's back up and thus far doing fine. I found a 3M Command product made specifically for "high humidity areas" (showers, etc) and decided to give 4 of those strips a try. So far, so good.
Did not stick! June 27, 2006 Allison (KY United States) 34 out of 37 found this review helpful
We unfortunately bought this before reading the reviews. We followed the directions perfectly and it fell off within 10 hours. So we are going to try what another reviewer said, double sided sticky tape and see if that works. If not we will be returning it which is really a shame because it's really cute and a big space saver for our small bathroom. They should really work on a design to make it stick better! Update: We tried the sticky tape and it stayed for about a week and fell again. So we took it back.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em... March 31, 2007 C. Larimer (Brighton, MA United States) 19 out of 25 found this review helpful
Like the others before me, I too read the reviews and thought people just didn't mount it correctly or follow the directions. So, I bought it anyawy thinking I was going to beat the system. I was slightly horrified at the size of it when it arrived, but proceeded to install it EXACTLY as instructed. I waited the suggested amount of time plus 12 hours, and put Jumbo Pod on it's mount, put a few toys in it and hung a little scrubby ball thing - not a lot of weight to say the least. Wasn't it exciting when the thing crashed down in the middle of the night causing the dogs to bark, our 17 month old to scream, and us wondering if we had been shot. Tried the suction cup thing.... Oh well. Now it sits in our hallway because Mommy is a dummy and threw the box away. It's really creepy late at night just sitting there....
Where's the love?! Krazy Glue Holds It To Wall! January 7, 2007 emory2001 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
We love our frog pod! It is actually so big we were rolling laughing when it arrived. The drainage feature is great too, and it holds a lot of bath-sized toys (not huge ones). Ours fell off after a few weeks, which we knew from other reviews might happen, but we just Krazy Glued it back to the wall and it has been up for months now with no problems. Very easy fix, and no screw holes in the wall for a permanent mount!
Yes, the hit-or-miss sticky tape... But so dang cute! August 31, 2006 T. Glisson (Seattle, WA United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Like many other reviewers, I had problems with the FrogPod tumbling off the shower wall -- and it's a smooth surface, no grout issues to blame. But after really muscling it onto there, the stick-or-not-to-stick issue disappeared... And it's PRECIOUS! And USEFUL! (And how many failed baby products can you say both about?) Handiness: Pluck off the basket, dump toys in bath, then scoop them up, rinse the works under the faucet and rehang for mildew-less drying. (Frankly, a tumble or two after I first hung it was far less hassling than the suction-cupped toy nets that never seem to consistently suck, just consistently SUCK.) Styling: Adorable! Insanely precious! The FrogPod is for kids, sure, but the design is clean, modern, and simply fun; just try stepping into the shower without smiling at the thing! Having children means having some clutter and some items that fall outside your aesthetic, but the FrogPod both reduces the clutter and does so with a playful design. Would that ALL products for kids could...
