Product Description The Pulse Kick N' Go offers a fast, smooth ride with a new high-tech design. Unlike traditional scooters that require constant pushing off the ground, the Pulse Kick 'N Go uses a unique chain and kick pedal self-propulsion system, allowing you to achieve blazing speed and tight maneuverability while maintaining a balanced stance on the deck. Whether you're sailing through neighborhood or racing your friends, you will have a blast!
Amazon.com Product Description Reengineered from the original Kick 'N Go scooter of the 1970s, the Pulse Xcelerator Kick 'N Go scooter provides a modern incarnation of the classic racing machine with a markedly faster and smoother ride. Unlike traditional scooters that require constant pushing off the ground, the Pulse Kick 'N Go uses a unique chain driven kick lever propulsion system that allows you to accelerate and maintain speed without ever touching foot-to-ground. Even beginning riders can hop on and execute tight turns while maintaining a balanced stance on the deck. It features a high-performance Chromoly steel frame with an ultra fine traction stripe on an ultra stiff, high tensile steel punch deck. You'll power the scooter with the single-action, dual sided, T-bar propulsion pedal at the back of the deck. After kicking it to power your ride, the T-bar comes back to its normal position within a few seconds for another propulsive kick. The handlebar includes ally, two-finger brake levers, dual-density control grips, and an internal downtube folding mechanism. It's completed by upgradeable BSB ABEC 7 precision speed bearings and 92A urethane street racing wheels with reinforced nylon hubs. It's quick and easy to assemble, and all necessary tools are included.

Great scooter May 10, 2008 Brian K. Lejak (CA USA) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Hey, what do you know, I'm the first to review this new scooter. Just bought one at toys r us 5/08 for $99 and it is fun, A bit big for my 4 year old but it saids age 8 on the box, he will grow into it. I use it to ride around the neighborhood with him, while he rides his razor and we have a great time. Seems to be well constructed and looks cool, although I would prefer a brighter color like yellow. An aluminum model would be nice to cut down on weight and it doesn't roll backwards, due to the gears, which is kind of awkward; but not that big of deal. Smooth ride although not as smooth and fun as my "xootr mg" which I still like better (check out xootr.com, a truly awesome scooter!!!) The pumping is smooth and easy on flat surface and a very slight up hill slope. It is terrible for going up hills,it is slow, hard to pump and the chain seems to slip when pushing to hard and fast, which is necessary to even think about going uphill. It has a big front wheel, which helps to not to go flying over the handles bars if you hit a small crack or bump on the ground (which I did last week on another scooter I have). The break has good stopping power. The hand grips have a nice feel to them. The deck is high off the ground so it's awkward to push like a regular scooter. I Highly recommend the kick n go even though it is not perfect, will probably be popular this Christmas and I'm sure the kids and adults will love it. Way better than playing video games all day and gets them outside for some fresh air and exercise. It's a great scooter but just not really fast like they advertise. I guess that their marketing department said to advertise it as being really fast but it's just not.
Underwhelming Speed May 12, 2008 burbis (Edina, MN United States) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Agree with everything in the first review, but I wouldn't rate as high. I checked out the web site before buying and it seemed to make a point of how speedy it is. But it's just...not. You can push it with your leg much faster than you can "pump" it, so there isn't much point to its pump mechanism. Otherwise seems sturdy and well-made. Chain does slip sometimes with pumping, and scooter doesn't push backward.
Big Disappointment May 24, 2008 Margaret Mcneill (Mount Airy, MD) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well made but the pumping idea is a bust. To get it moving you need to go down a hill or push off the ground with your foot. If using as a normal scooter to get started your leg hits the pumping pedal. The pumping pedal does not add much speed. My 10 year old son was very disappointed.
pulse kick and go scooter review July 8, 2008 E. A. Hansel 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i found this scooter to be alot of fun, i dont know why people are writing bad reviews about it. the pump mechanism only goes fast if you kick it really fast, i had to also reduce the chain length to make it ALOT faster, to do this you need to look at the bottom and you will see a black spring and the chain. disconnect the spring and there should be a little grey hook holding the end of the chain.make that chainlength longer so theres more extra(reducing the chains length), now you can have someone help you for the next part or you can do this yourself (i did this myself)pull the black spring and connect it back to the black hook on the grey disk shaped thing and your ready to go. what reducing the chain length does. reducing the chain length makes it harder to push the kick pedal. this in turn makes for a bigger speed burst though. remember to kick off about 3 times to get a good ammount of speed and momentum and then just kick as hard and as fast as you can.
good for kids but not for adults May 30, 2008 Jewel My husband and kids gave me this scooter for my birthday (40+). It offers a very smooth ride with a nice grip. It is a larger scooter than the Razor which you would think would be more appropriate for adults. Unfortunately, I find the platform too short making it uncomfortable for anything longer than a 1 minute trip. It is awkward to push along as the pump gets in the way a bit. The scooter doesn't back up so you end up having to lift the front wheel to turn it around at times. That being said, my kids (aged 5, 8 & 10) all love it and my 5 year old mastered the pump in about 2 minutes.
