Enviro Mental Sing Along CD Player December 26, 2007 Amy Beck (Crescent City, Ca) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this Cd player for my Four year old for Christmas. She loves it! I love the fact that it is very durable. I also love that it has two micro phones so her brother can play also! (When she lets him) :O) The sound quility is really good. This product is expensive but worth the money! I did a lot of revewing on this product and others and found that this was the best way to go. If you are going to buy a sing along cd player spend the extra money and get this product. Crescent City Mommy
Great kid's CD player January 18, 2008 L. Phelps (Littleton, CO) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Got this for my just turned 7year old daughter to replace an older sing along CD player that went toes up. So far I've been impressed with the sound quality, the durability, and actually the compactness of the unit. It's smaller than the one we had previously and lighter too. I like the digital controls (the old one had analog/knobs) and the case holder in the back is a huge plus. Now when she changes CD, she has the case in the back to put it where it's supposed to be, instead of just laying it somewhere. There is also a volume limiter switch inside the battery compartment if you so choose to limit how high the volume can get. Overall, we are very pleased!
Big hit with our 3-year old May 31, 2008 back to the garden (Sacramento) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought the Enviro-Mental Sing-Along CD Player for my granddaughter for her 3rd birthday. Music is so important for development and brings such joy. We haven't had it long, so it's hard to rate durability at this point, but it seems sturdy and is withstanding handling by a 3-year old fine. I picked this one because I liked the design and thought it looked sturdy and kid friendly, and it was exactly what I had hoped for. I thought she might not be able to operate it on her own, but little did I know she's a technology whiz and had no problem at all learning which buttons do what. I searched high and low for kid CDs with actual good acoustic music that the musicians in the family can enjoy too -- Elizabeth Mitchell's "You Are My Sunshine" and "On a Starry Night" by various artists under Children's Music -- so nice. But right now, my granddaughter's favorite thing in the world to do is run around the house, CD player in one hand, microphone in the other, singing the ABC song at the top of her lungs. Hopefully she'll branch out soon! Her nanny likes it too, and uses it to play the CDs for all of the kids in her care. I did not buy the AC adapter but got a battery recharger that holds 4 rechargeable C batteries instead. The batteries seem to last a long time, too, so it seems pretty energy efficient. I'm really happy with this choice.

Didn't last as long as I'd hoped. June 30, 2008 Tommy's Mommy (Los Angeles, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought this as a "big brother present" for our 2 1/2 year old when his sister was born. He loved it, dragged it all over the house, and of course, dropped it a few times. So four months later, the CD player is broken. There doesn't seem to be any kind of warranty on it--the manufacturer is in Hong Kong. On the plus side, it's very portable and easy to operate, even for a 2 1/2 year old. We never had any problems with CD's skipping. And the volume limiter is a nice touch. On the minus side, the microphones are LOUD. Those need their own volume control. But they are removable so if all you want is a CD player, just hide the microphones from your kids! It would be nice if the entire unit was rechargeable but using our own rechargeable batteries isn't too big a hassle. Also, it's not cheap. All we really want is a durable, portable, kid-friendly CD player--we don't actually want the "sing-along" feature. I haven't been able to find that so I will be buying another one of these. My son will just have to be a lot more careful with it!
