You may be trying to decide what Marley video to get. I have seen two Bob Marley videos, both the most popular and commercially successful. I have viewed this one (Caribbean Nights) and the video called Legend. Caribbean Nights is much more informative and has more interviews with Bob and other relatives and friends, Caribbean Nights is also twice as long and you learn valuable information. Of course there are a few interviews that aren't that interesting. Legend the movie is almost all live performances of the songs on the Legend cd. It has some interviews with bob but not as many as Caribbean Nights. But the songs performed in Legend are better than Caribbean Nights. Buy Legend if just want live performances. I will list the songs performed for Caribbean Nights (Legend includes all the songs on the Legend cd. and "Want More" from Rastaman Vibration, so there is no need for me to list the songs on the legend movie.) Songs performed on caribbean nights: No woman no cry Bad Card Trenchtown rock Stir it up Rastaman Chant Slave Driver - extremely good live performance concrete jungle lively up yourself war- cool live performance jammin' zimbabwe redemption song -same performance as in Legend the movie could you be loved-not live
An absolute must for every Bob Marley fan! February 7, 1999 Joe Wein (Japan) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This award winning video traces Bob's life from his humble origins in rural Jamaica to international stardom, to his premature death. It contains numerous interviews with Bob and with those who knew and loved him (e.g. Bob's mother, Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt, Peter Tosh, Chris Blackwell, Neville Garrick, Joe Hicks, Rastas from the Bull Bay commune, etc.). It also contains rare archive footage from concerts, interviews and from Bob's funeral. The soundtrack alone is so impressive that you could play the entire video with your eyes closed! Featured tracks: No Woman No Cry Bad Card Trenchtown Rock Stir It Up Rastaman Chant Slave Driver Concrete Jungle Lively Up Yourself War Jamming Zimbabwe (Harare version) Redemption Song Could You Be Loved

If you are going to buy one Bob Marley video, make it The Bob Marley Story. This beautifuly done documentary captures the spirit, beauty, and depth of this mythical herbsman. Many of his best songs are performed, including "No Woman, No Cry" and "Jammin". A moving story about the first third world superstar. Ganja, Jah, love, and music.
A brilliant documentary about a modern poet December 17, 2000 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
The best video documentary ever made about the life and music of Bob Marley. Features some of the best live footage of Bob's songs available, and an outstanding historical view on the roots of reggae music in Jamaica. A must have for Bob Marley fans. I have watched it at least 20 times and never get tired of it. Go buy it!!
a beautiful video about a beautiful man April 12, 2000 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This video is a must for all Bob Marley fans, hell for all human beings who feel that there is still hope for the human race. It chronicles the life of a shining man, from his birth in poverty to his world wide fame. The documentary goes deeply into his life interviewing the most important people in his life. Oh yeah, the music is awesome, you can hear the tape with your eyes closed. Definetly worth it. Jah live. Roll a spliff. Rest in peace Robert Nesta Marley.
