ACCIDENTS - Volume 1, will help you learn what you should do in case an accident happens to your infant or toddler. The program covers the most common childhood accidents: cuts, fractures, burns, head injuries, stings, burns heart stroke, cuts, cold exposure, eye injuries, nose injuries and more. Created in cooperation with Pediatric Emergency Physicians from leading children's hospitals, the video explains in clear, easy-to-follow instructions what to do until help arrives and what signs and symptoms to report to your doctor or 9-1-1 dispatchers. You will also learn other valuable tips on how to childproof your home, use of car and booster seats, being prepared for emergencies, what your role is in the emergency medical system and much more. ACCIDENTS and Volume II, ILLNESSES should be watched and reviewed by the entire family, your baby-sitter and day care providers. Review this "must have" video periodically to keep your skills sharp. Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Good video   September 1, 2005

This video covers basics. ...child proofing and how to assess how serious the injury is and what might have caused it. Car safety, pets, stings, sunburn, heat exhaustion/stroke, cold exposure, head injuries, falls, breaks/fractures, bumps, falls, burns, electrical burns, eye injuries and nose problems.

This contains video in all the segments - it is not a sit down lecture. It gives a list of things to look for and or to do for each of the things it covers. It also gives guidelines as to when you should call your doctor or EMS (the Emergency Medical Services).

I think this video is very useful, probably more so if you watch it every now and then for a refresher. I think it was well done. You can get all this information in a book, but if you are a visual learner you might appreciate seeing it.
