Nice learning video and story January 4, 2003 Robert McKeon (North Potomac, Maryland USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Not just one of thoes dirrectional videos, it has a nice storyline and fun sing-along songs. Sometimes I actually sing "super duper pooper." For a child to do what you want: it is how you "sell it" to them. This is a nice "soft sell" subtle video that my daughter actually watches and hopefully will follow: I hope!
Don't waste your money December 16, 2004 Average housewife (MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This video is not a video for a young child just learning how to use a potty. It is more for the child who just needs some brushing up on how to have good potty hygiene. The whole story line is this 4yr olds birthday party. They make the trip to the potty fun. The message being that the party will still be there when you get back. The typical 4yr old dilemma, do I leave the fun or hold it. It does show his little sister in the potty training phase, but it only touches on it VERY briefly. The story line is quite borring and in my opinion DUMB.. My daughter never really got into it. Bottom line there are a lot of better potty videos out there. We like "once Upon A Potty" for the just learning set.
Great for any phase of potty training! September 6, 2007 Kris (Chicago far west burbs) I disagree with the last review. My son is not yet 2, but has begun potty training at his own request. For some reason he went on "potty strike" for 2 days, but brought me the tape this morning asking to "watch teddy bear potty" (there's a teddy bear on a potty on the cover). I figured he'd get disappointed when he saw that the movie did not revolve around a teddy bear, but he was engrossed through the whole thing. Since he likes to do everything that "big boys" do, watching all those big kids use the potty snapped him out of his strike & got him using the potty again. He even requested to wear underwear today, which he never has! Though my son & I love the Once Upon A Potty book I don't let him watch the video. I don't see how letting babies play with potties & put them on their heads actually helps in any way. In fact, if you go into any bookstore & go to the potty training board books you will find that almost every single book has a child with a potty on their head. Think i'm making this up? Go look for yourself. This video shows no playing with the potty, just children using the potty the way it's supposed to be used, having fun, and singing. Perfect!
