Enjoyable nursery rhyme style story and songbook February 6, 1999 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
This was the perfect introduction to Italian for my one year old. With a simple story of one girls day, numbers 1 - 10, the days of the week, and other basic vocabulary are introduced in a format that is completely entertaining. Childrens songs are sung in both English and Italian with a companion coloring book. At 18 months of age this was my son's favorite cassette to listen to in the morning.
Excellent! October 3, 2005 Detra Fitch (USA) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
This says it is for ages 2-12. However, I do not care how old you are. I'm in my thirties and I am loving this thing! I always wanted to learn some Italian, French, Chinese, German, and Spanish. Oh, not fluently. Just so I can say that I know "some". Thanks to this, I can now sing in Italian. It does not matter if you want to learn a little bit, "some", or become fluent. This small work/coloring book and CD combination is the perfect way to begin. Now, about those children aged 2-12 years ... Let us say you live in America and have kids. They are going to learn English in school. However, you are proud of your family heritage and want your kids to learn that language too. Then I am here to tell you that you have GOT to give this a try! This "Teach Me" book teaches Italian in a way kids can enjoy, through song and coloring. There are twenty children's songs on the CD. Between songs a young child speaks in Italian. Every single uttered word is in the book, so you can follow along. If you do not recognize a tune, then look in the back of the book. Everything is translated to English for you. Turn the CD on and let your kids color in the work book. Each page is made with children in mind and they beg to be colored. Here is a tip for you, make copies of the pages. This way your children may color to their hearts' content. It is also perfect for home schooling. Here are just a few of the songs you will hear on the CD: Are You Sleeping? Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes The Wheels on the Car Alphabet Oh! Susanna Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.
Not worth it January 30, 2006 Lorena from Milan (Los Angeles, CA USA) 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
This is the second CD I bought to have my baby listen to something Italian (since I am Italian) but again I was disappointed because the songs are translation of American ones and they do not really work in Italian... they do not rhyme and even the sounds of things are wrong!!! I do not know who did this CD, certainly not Italians who live or have lived there recentely!!! Absolutely not worth it!!! Not the music I want my baby to listen to!!!
Mamma Mia! What a great way to introduce Italian May 25, 2001 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I can't say enough great things about this method. The combination of Italian conversation and easy to follow songs is fabulous. The songs exclusively in Italian are catchy and easy to pick up and the use of typical american songs in half english and half Italian is a great learning tool for kids to understand what the words mean. My 3 1/2 year old has mastered the alphabet, the days of the week and the numbers as well as all of the songs in an amazingly short period of time....My only regret is that there is no volume 2!!
time to sing along August 12, 2005 Barbara V. Forsyth 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book and audio gives us alot of fun. We already know the english tune and we just sing along in Italian. The grandchildren love it and laugh at me when I sing, but that is the whole thing about having a good time. Sing, laugh and clap your hands.
