Amazon.com It's October 31 and Barney and the kids are decorating for a Halloween party at school. This means a trip to a local farm for the usual pumpkins, the Indian corn, and a good excuse for some seasonal songs ("You can call it fall, if that's what you please / But I say I like autumn.") There are 14 songs, including at least one repeat from an earlier tape, and the usual Barney-ized versions of traditional tunes--the most bizarre being "S-M-I-L-E" to the music of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." The prehistoric galoot and his "Halloween team" make some construction-paper spiders and paper-bag owls that are easy to duplicate at home and some foot-painting that would do a number on your carpets. The party is the big payoff, complete with prizeless games, a candy-filled pinata, and Barney boogeying down. The secondary story has BJ and Baby Bop on a dismal trick-or-treat outing, which includes safety advice but ultimately seems to suggest that this most-typical Halloween activity isn't a good idea. On the costume front, cowboys, ballerinas, and scarecrows are the order of the night, as this festive, but decidedly unspooky, 50-minute tape sidesteps the whole ghost/witch/goblin theme. --Kimberly Heinrichs
Description It's Halloween and Barney and his friends are decorating the gym for an exciting party at the school. From Indian corn to smiling jack-o-lanterns, they gym is aglow with the colors of fall. Meanwhile, BJ and Baby Bop are putting the final touches on their costumes as they get ready for a fun-filled night of trick-or-treating. Finally, evening arrives, they party beings and the trick-or-treaters set out to search for goodies. Unfortunately, after a full night of trying, BJ comes up just a bit empty-handed. But when he and Baby Bop return to school, they soon find out that their friends have plenty of goodies and surprises waiting for them. Sometimes, the best treats at Halloween are good friends.

Barney halloween party September 1, 2001 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was the first Barney video I bought for my son when he was 18 months old and it has been the one we've enjoyed the most. It really brings out the fun in halloween for my children and they love to watch this video. I highly recommend this video.
A Halloween Hit! November 2, 2003 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is such a wonderful Halloween DVD...my 16 month old really enjoyed seeing Barney, B J, Baby Bop, and the kids dressed in costumes, playing Halloween games, and even trick or treating. The songs are fun and the kids even show you how to make some Halloween decorations. There is one scene with Farmer Duley that even adults can enjoy, the songs he sings are terrific. This DVD teaches trick or treating safety rules as well as sharing and fun.

BARNEY CELEBRATES HALLOWEEN March 2, 2005 Tim Janson (Michigan) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one we just picked up recently for our 2 1/2 year old. He likes Barney but he's not his favorite but he just loves Halloween so this was a great tape for him. Barney is joined by Baby Bop and the usual gang of kids as they celebrate Halloween. Barney and the kids take a trip to a farm where they learn all about fall fun such as cider and pumpkins. From there it's off to school to help the teacher decorate for the big Halloween party. Barney in the gang make several cute craft projects including paper spiders and goodie bags and also paint some pumpkins. later that evening they all get in their costumes anf go to the big party at school. This was a fun and educational tape. Kids learn about autumn, there's fun projects to make and Barney even teaches hids about enjoying Halloween safely. My son loves it already!
