It is what it is............ January 23, 2006 K. Rubinic 44 out of 50 found this review helpful
I have to laugh at and have a BIG pet peeve with those people who say this DVD isn't "challenging" or "hard" enough for them and that it's "too basic", etc. People, people, people.......it specificially states under the title of the DVD......."a simplied approach". I have both You Can Do Abs & You Can Do Pilates so I know for sure it says that on the front cover just under the titles. Why do you self proclaimed critics continually come on here giving such harsh and sarcastic opinions/reviews acting like you're sooooo disappointed in these types of workout videos/DVD's because it's not hard enough or challenging enough for you to do? It's like you're trying to compare apples to oranges when putting trainers like Leslie Sansone up against trainers like Billy Blanks and The Firm. Geezie Pete!!! If you know anything at all about Leslie Sansone's training, you should realize by now that she doesn't have drill sergeant tactics to whip you into Olympic athlete shape in two days or less in "any" of her tapes/DVD's, whether it's walking, pilates, abs or yoga......ever. However, Leslie IS challenging enough for those people who don't strive to be like or look like superstar trainers with 6 packs abs running around in midrif tops all the time to show them off like say Jillian Michaels of The Biggest Loser (whom I do admire by the way and am not critizing - if you got it flaunt it). Leslie Sansone is a trainer who is sensible, fun, and tries to be realistic enough to help people improve themselves and get healthier who maybe haven't exercised in awhile or who just need that push to get back into a regular routine again, or who really are just beginners and need some TLC coaching to help them get on the right track without hurting themselves. So don't be so critical and harsh on the more down to earth trainers like Leslie Sansone. If you're really all that great of an athlete, then don't buy these kinds of tapes, go criticize the trainers who really do have more challenging and harder reputations!
Easy but good :-> September 1, 2006 Little Miss Cutey (Melbourne, Australia) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
Sometimes you want an exercise DVD that focuses only on your abs. This is one of those and it's good, but very easy and not for advanced exercisers. It's really more of an introduction to using a stability ball for building up your core. She gives you a lot of instruction first, so you don't feel totally out of sync on the ball and you'll feel comfortable on it. Then there is the 20 minute workout. During that, there is an optional final part that uses dumbells for arm exercises and upper body work (there are advanced options within that too). All you need is weights and the ball and a lot of balance, but using a ball is really enjoyable because you can feel your abs tightening the whole way through. I really like Leslie. She's experienced and pleasant to listen to and also encouraging. This is a great workout but definately for beginners and way too easy for advanced people. This is a good starting point if you haven't used a ball before.
If you just got a ball - Get This March 19, 2005 a reader (, KY United States) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I love this exercise with the ball. If you just got a swiss ball and a beginner, this is the DVD to get. Great abs workout and upper body workout. It doesn't take long to see results.
Great for beginners, but not much of a challenge September 3, 2004 C. Sudhoff 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this video mainly because I love Leslie's Walk Away the Pounds series and wanted to add some strength training using a stability ball. The instruction is simple and clear, but the workouts are not as challenging as I had hoped. The instructional portion of the video is ~15 minutes long, leaving only 21 minutes for the "Core Workout" and the "Challenge Workout." Like many of Leslie's tapes, she gives you modifications to make the moves more challenging...I could do them the very first time through. I think this tape would be great for someone who is new to exercise, but I'll need something more strenuous to keep building my fitness level.
Leslie Makes It Easy! February 22, 2006 waf (Texas) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
After purchasing my stability ball, I attempted to do the exercises printed on the instruction manual. I gave up quickly because the exercises seemed too difficult for a beginner. I am a big fan of Leslie's other walking videos, so I decided to give this one a try. True, it's not the most challenging, but it's a great place to start if you're a beginner to stability ball exercise.
