Great KIDS movie!!! September 24, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This movie was one that my kids LOVED and being a parent as well as a Meat Loaf fan enjoyed. No one claims this movie is one for the Oscars and couldn't compete with those caliber movies. Granted. However, it is one to sit down with a bowl of popcorn, your pre-teen kids and enjoy. Yes, it may be a little cheesy but that's not the point. The movie revolves around 2 guys who are climbing in the Himalayas when they encounter Meat Loaf's character and his sidekick tracking one of the mysterious "Yeti's". They are tracking the Yeti for a rich man who wants it for his spoiled brat of a son. The Yeti winds up hiding out in the backpack of one of the hikers who unknowingly brings it back to New York with him. The daughter of one of the hikers discovers it when she is searching her dad's backpack for what he brought back for her. They eventually find out that if he isn't kept cold he will die from the heat (his body's not used to it). The story tells of Meat Loaf's character following them to New York to track the Yeti and the hikers down and get the Yeti to the rich man.
A real piece of Junk July 20, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is quite a low star film. The plot is dumb, the acting is terrible, the characters are preachy and the Yeti looks like a Furby with horns. If you buy this movie you will most likely regret it. Just take my advice, this movie stinks.
