Editorial Reviews:

Description
Using recent advancements in child developmental research which demonstrates that exposing your child to certain types of visual and auditory stimulation can actually help you raise a SMARTER, HAPPIER baby, this video, unlike any other video on the market, is specially designed to educate, entrance and delight your child. Every day objects found in the video encourage reasoning with stimulating, cleverly designed puppet scenes featuring our lovable DOOKIE DUCK. Adding humor to be appreciated by adults and children alike, we teach and then enforce core educational principles by scenes which captivate and inspire concentration. Images are accompanied by Classical music orchestrated especially for babies and toddlers by an Emmy Award Winning Composer.

5 out of 5 stars DO NOT PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THIS DVD!!!!   September 29, 2003

This DVD is a must have for your baby/toddler. My kids couldn't stop asking for more Dookie Duck! I really appreciated the learning scenes. It taught me a lot about what I can do at home for my baby with ordinary kitchen objects. If you're looking for an educational entertaining program for your baby and entire family than this video is for you. Do not pass up this opportunity. You must see it!

1 out of 5 stars very disappointing   February 3, 2004

This is by far the worst baby DVD we ever bought. And it is the first time in three years that the advice of our fellow-Amazonians let us down. Four reviewers recommended this title, and I cannot understand at all why. Here is what's on this DVD: Very dark background, cheap and boring toys that don't do much, and THE worst pupeetering EVER! The duck puppet is handled from the side, not from underneath, and as a result you see this thing lying on its side all the time. All it can do is open and close its beak ... a far cry from the pupeetering of the Baby Einstein titles. The toys are shown in a strange kind of close-up, and the sequencing has no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever. Somebody just threw this together. There is an "educational" section in the middle: You see how ice melts in a frying. Here is the problem with this: My 16-month old does not get this BUT the scene right after this somewhat lame science experiement is a very boring snail toy that moves across the screen in slow motion, and my baby is bored by that. Which age group did they aim this at? 0-3? Don't make me laugh. The music is not good, either.... If I could have, I would have given this zero stars....

1 out of 5 stars NOT Baby Einstein!!   February 10, 2004

I purchased this video based on all the great Amazon reviews and the Parents Magazine Parents Choice Award title but I am very disappointed that I wasted my money on this soon to be dust collector. The quality is poor from all aspects. The colors are dark and they use terrible cloth backdrops, the film quality is amateur at best. The music and narrator are both annoying and the sound is awful. My six month old loves the Baby Einstein videos and watches everything with great intent but even she seemed bored by this video. The only good thing about the video are the basic concepts it attempts to teach, but it is not visually stimulating enough to hold a child's attention long enough to do so....

5 out of 5 stars ALL THE CHILDREN LOVED THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!   November 18, 2003

I had a birthday party at my house with all different ages of children. They all loved it and wanted to watch it again and again! They went crazy over Dookie Duck. I can't wait to see the next product from this company.

2 out of 5 stars Poor Quality   April 16, 2004

My three children like the music, but the quality is terrible. Not only does it give the feeling of being taped over one too many times, but the toys and props used also give it an old-timey feeling, which isn't pleasant. I had read such nice reviews and was really disapointed. There are a lot better dvd's to purchase than this one.
