Editorial Reviews:

Description
Juliet Stevenson stars in this adaptation of Laurie Lee's classis novel, featuring narration by Lee himself.

Set in 1918 in the heart of Gloucestershire countryside, Cider with Rosie conjures up a world of earthy warmth and beauty as it follows Laurie Lee's renowned tale from childhood to adolescence and the awakening of manhood. But the scheme of Laurie's village was not all warm summer evenings and fumbling sexuality.

Cider with Rosie is not only a timeless and charming tale of childhood, but also an elegy to a passing era.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A master piece indeed   July 22, 2007
Mr. CP Davies (uk)
If you want the intimate detail of life in England in the early part of the 20th centuary this film will give you a true flavour of the variety and richness of the characters in life. Some wonderful and big hearted others sad and pathetic. but all rich in detail. The bonus of the actual voice of the author is heard and adds a wonderful sense of authenticity to the experience of his childhood. If you enjoy the intimacy of the film The Song Catcher then you will enjoy this. Enjoy.
